The multi-level marketing (MLM) field grows and its member companies multiply. Solicitations to join the movement seem to be everywhere. Many people fall into the false trappings of an MLM without any real knowledge of how it works, or what the failure rate is.<\/p>\n
Although widely growing, it is still hard to find the small successes amidst all the failure rates of a traditional MLM. Many are led to believe the assertions that success can be found by anyone who can grow a downline, but the reality is that many lack the sales background and skill. According to the MLM structure, all of us will become MLM distributor when that is not the case.<\/p>\n
In general, MLM industry claims of distributor income potential, its descriptions of the network business model and its prophecies of a reigning destiny in product distribution which is a rare phenomenon in the realm of MLM.<\/p>\n
Financially, the odds for an individual to achieve financial success under those circumstances rival the odds of winning at the tables in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n
The very legality of the MLM system rests tenuously upon a single ruling on one company. The guidelines for legality that are set forth in that ruling are routinely ignored by the industry. Lack of governing legislation or oversight by any designated authority also enables the industry to endure despite occasional prosecutions by state Attorneys General or the FTC.<\/p>\n
MLM is not defined and regulated like, for instance, franchises are. MLMs can be established without federal or state approval. There is no federal law specifically against pyramid schemes. State or federal regulation usually involves first proving that the company is not a true MLM. This process can take years and by then, the damage to consumers is done. Indeed, even when MLM companies are shut down, the damage is still done, and the failure rate of MLM continues to grow.<\/p>\n
Stepping out from the vast array of MLM failures, and the burden of selling and growing your own network is easier when there is an alternative, and an overall better way of doing things.<\/p>\n
