Around 2 thousand views a week! This blog gets around 2,500 views a week (unless I actually write a blog post in a given week, in which case hopefully it goes up a bit\u2026) and that\u2019s with an archive of 100s of posts for Google to find \u2013 Slideshare only has about 25 of my presentations on and yet that many people are receiving the messages I\u2019ve put out there. (Plus, only four of my blogposts have had over 10,000 views, let alone 50 or 70,000.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n I just made and uploaded two SlideShare presentations I made from my blog posts.<\/p>\n Look how many views I got after just a few hours.<\/p>\n And all my SlideShare presentations have links inside leading to my blog and splash pages.<\/p>\n A few hours later, I received an email advising the 2 presentations I had recently uploaded were HOT on LinkedIn and being featured on SlideShare\u2019s home page \u2013 MLM Recruiting Secrets<\/a> and Facebook Groups<\/a>.<\/p>\n The beauty of SlideShare<\/strong> is you don\u2019t need to be performing well in google search to score hundreds and thousands of views. It is however very important to put the correct keywords and keyword rich description with each presentation as you upload them so searchers on SlideShare can find you ( as well as other search engines).<\/p>\n Keywords can be added to your title, text on slides (which becomes the transcript), description and tags.<\/p>\n If you have a paid Pro account, you can add videos. My account is free but I noticed for the first time today that I can add audio or video to three of my nine presentations.<\/p>\n You can choose where to place your video. I placed mine immediately after the first slide.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The \u201cHot on\u2026\u201d sections at the \u00a0bottom of the SlideShare homepage are filled by algorithms, so the best way of getting there is to have your viewers share your presentations on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn \u2014 which also helps boost your traffic. The Top Presentations and Featured section on the homepage are hand-curated by the SlideShare team.<\/p>\n Here is what the editorial board say they look for:<\/p>\n 1. Have a Powerful Headline<\/strong>: A\u00a0clear, succinct headline that is both intriguing and gets your message across is critical for top promotion.<\/p>\n 2. Create an Enticing Cover Page:<\/strong>\u00a0This is equally important, as it, along with the headline, is the first thing people see. Keep it simple, yet visual \u2014 all while clearly conveying what the presentation is about.<\/p>\n 3. Be Well-Designed\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0Informative<\/strong>: We look for presentations that are visual but also insightful and have a strong storyline. The design of a presentation is just as important as the content in it \u2014 and it all must flow together to keep a viewer interested, informed and engaged.<\/p>\n 4. Tackle a Hot Topic<\/strong>: We feature lots of great SlideShare content that is evergreen and can be relevant for years. But we especially like presentations that are relevant to the latest news, trends and buzz topics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n Something well worth aspiring to, as landing a Top Presentation spot could lead to a more than 18,000% increase in views.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n I intend trying new designs and methods with my presentations \u2013 more creative texts, better use of colour and whole photographs for each page with text added on top.<\/p>\n Of course, the most important part of any SlideShare is the content<\/em>. I have seen some with great photos and quotes scoring very well.
