{"id":10,"date":"2012-06-25T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-06-25T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/sidneyg\/?p=10"},"modified":"2026-07-31T20:13:48","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T20:13:48","slug":"stay-at-home-dads-jobs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/sidneyg\/stay-at-home-dads-jobs\/","title":{"rendered":"Stay at Home Dads Jobs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: left\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/encrypted-tbn1.google.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRkQR-AS_E7spcME0l-GgrVeD3Cp-VX5ySlXu-gu1DL07rXrj1CU8Tq3tzN-g\" alt=\"Stay at Home Dad Jobs\" width=\"167\" height=\"155\"\/>Stay at Home Dads Jobs<\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left\">Stay at Home Dads Jobs \u2013 The struggle<\/h2>\n<p>Single parenthood can change the most\u00a0seasoned\u00a0professional and causing them \u00a0to struggle and become unbalance. \u00a0I have a\u00a0<strong>TOTAL<\/strong>\u00a0new respect for single parents and stay at home dads.<\/p>\n<p>My transition from\u00a0<a title=\"How did I walk away from Corporate America and How do I work at home?\" href=\"\/sidneyg\/blog\/work-at-home\/\">Corporate America \u00a0<\/a>to a\u00a0single\u00a0parent put me in the same \u00a0situation searching for\u00a0a\u00a0stay at home dads jobs.<\/p>\n<p>I went from a\u00a0career\u00a0management\u00a0of\u00a0INC 500\/Fortune 100 companies making 6 figures to a 46 \u00a0years old, single parent of a 1 year old little girl, with\u00a0minimal\u00a0income for the first time in my life \u00a0I was\u00a0trying\u00a0to figure how I was going to pull this off. \u00a0There was no more funds because of the The Recession and being<a title=\"How To Start Earning 100% Commissions Today\" href=\"\/sidneyg\/get-money\/\">\u00a0laid off.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0I have heard through past dicussions of the the struggling\u00a0<em>stay at home dads jobs<\/em>. \u00a0Now I am in the same vote\u00a0except\u00a0I am Dad.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Stay at Home Dads Jobs \u2013 The Situatio<\/strong>n<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Feeling like \u00a0I need to be more\u00a0available\u00a0to my\u00a0children because they seem to do better when they parents are\u00a0around.<\/li>\n<li>I had to work around my\u00a0daughter\u2019s\u00a0schedule and my son\u2019s visiting\u00a0schedule.<\/li>\n<li>I had very little support from friends or family because I live out-of-state. Trying to stay close to my 10 years son and my family are scatter all over the global.<\/li>\n<li>I am making one-third the paid I use to, which by itself opened a can a worms which we were not prepared to deal with.<\/li>\n<li>My old peers could not understand why I could not be\u00a0available\u00a0like before. \u00a0Which was professionally crippling. As a Information Technology Professional, \u00a0employers\u00a0expect \u00a0you to be available \u00a0at any given time. \u00a0Try\u00a0doing\u00a0that with a one year old.<\/li>\n<li>No days off.\u00a0<strong>None!<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0(If you are a single parent, you know what I am talking about.)<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with my our identity issues and having trouble settling into this new role.<\/li>\n<li>No time to yourself for personal growth and get your mind in check. (Yep, I \u00a0am guy and I said it.)<\/li>\n<li>Oh and needing a\u00a0<strong>stay at home dads jobs\u00a0<\/strong>too as a Dad. \u00a0To quote\u00a0George\u00a0Clooney\u00a0character in the The Descendants:\u00a0\u00a0<em>\u201cI\u2019m the back-up parent,\u00a0the understudy,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0explains\u00a0<em>George Clooney\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>complacent family man and workaholic Hawaiian lawyer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Stay at Home Dads Jobs \u2013 How do I \u00a0remedy this\u00a0issue?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>I have to move to a place which offers the \u00a0support for single parents.<\/li>\n<li>I need to find a\u00a0business\u00a0I can work from home.<\/li>\n<li>I had to find something which is conducive\u00a0to a single\u00a0parents\u00a0life.<\/li>\n<li>I had to re-establish\u00a0my\u00a0identity.<\/li>\n<li>I need to find the\u00a0potential\u00a0off making the money my family was accustom too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><strong>Stay at Home Dads Jobs &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>I found\u00a0several\u00a0solutions\u00a0which works for me.
