If my home business wasn’t working the way I had planned or things just weren’t going my way I would always feel sorry for myself – “Oh woe, is me!”

Now I look around at what I do have and think “you know what? I am damn lucky to have a roof over my head, good health, 3 great happy balanced kids, a lifelong partner… the list goes on. I have sooooo much to be grateful for and showing gratitude daily is now something I always do.

But, I know, when life seems uncertain and depressing, one of the hardest emotions to feel and do is showing gratitude. After all, a person might feel that it’s very hard for them to feel gratitude when their world is falling apart.

Many people are scared because the job market hasn’t recovered over the past few years. The economy is extremely fragile, and financial systems around the world seem to be crumbling apart.

Many people have lost their homes, and their way of life. It seemed that things were starting to get better, and now there are new worries to consider.

Showing Gratitude – No Matter What!

With all of these issues weighing heavy on the minds of the masses, one might feel that showing gratitude, and expressing gratitude can be next to impossible. However, it’s the hard times that can create conditions for showing gratitude.

For example, many people have found that they can have pleasure, meaning and worth – leading more simplistic lives. Families have rediscovered each other and created loving and healthy homes.

They enjoy the simplicity of sitting around the dinner table, eating a simple meal prepared with love, then watching a movie together.

Although there might not be a lot of money to be spent, there is a lot of love in the home, which is truly priceless. This alone is worth expressing gratitude for.

One doesn’t have to have a family or partner to feel like they have things to be grateful for. One can simply reflect on various times in their life – past and present – and find many occasions and people to be grateful for.

It’s a great exercise if someone is feeling a little low to sit down with a journal, and reflect on their past, their present, and even their future dreams. Everyone can think of at least one simple thing, moment, or person worthy of showing gratitude for. If a person thinks about the present moment, they can reflect upon the fact that they might have good health.

If a person is employed, this is certainly something to be grateful for. If they aren’t employed, then they should be grateful that they have marketable skills, and the will to search for a new place of employment.

It doesn’t matter what the situation is about. The point is to reflect upon something or someone who puts a smile on your face, and be absolutely grateful for it.

There is an old saying that gratitude determines one’s attitude. So, if you are a person who is struggling with hard times of any sort, take a moment at least once a day to reflect upon anything from your past or present that is worthy of showing gratitude for.

And don’t forget to dream and plan your future. Your future will become your present and then your past. Your attitude and gratitude will determine whether it to be a good one. It’s your choice to make it so…!

So come and see what I am Showing gratitude for everyday.

Come and join us!

Are you showing gratitude – Even for the smallest things… I found it hard sometimes to be grateful.
