When I started looking at setting up an online business, something that kept coming up was Email Marketing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It seemed everyone that had an online business was in some way or another doing this magical\u00a0Email Marketing<\/em> and, if I didn\u2019t do it, I\u2019d be at some disadvantage!<\/p>\n

Hmmm\u2026 I mean I knew how to e-mail people so was there anymore to it than this?\u00a0 Did they mean I had to send people, whose e-mail addresses I had, information on my business and products, is that Email Marketing?<\/p>\n

Well, after a lot of research<\/h2>\n

And speaking to people who knew what Email Marketing was and were successfully using it in their business.\u00a0 I learned that it was pretty similar to what I thought.\u00a0 I did have to send people e-mails and they did have to be about my business and products\u2026<\/p>\n

So, that\u2019s simple then, that\u2019s what Email Marketing is\u2026 isn\u2019t it?<\/h2>\n

Err, well not entirely.\u00a0 Sending people e-mails about your products and services will help to keep your clients or potential clients interested in what you do but it\u2019s not the be all and end all of Email Marketing.<\/p>\n

You do have to have their e-mail address in the first place and getting e-mail addresses from people\u00a0is not just as simple as getting someone to visit your site.\u00a0 You need to convince them to leave their e-mail address for you first, so you can send them information.<\/p>\n

Then, especially if they\u2019re potential buyers, \u00a0you need to get them to remember you, your business and your products and services, above so many other people out there who are also looking for buyers.\u00a0 You can do this by sending out regular e-mails to your contacts not just a one off,\u00a0in fact maybe every week or even every day!<\/p>\n

Email Marketing is all about keeping regular contact<\/h2>\n

And providing your contacts with information of value to them\u00a0 will help you get people to like and, eventually trust you, and will all help to build credibility for your business.\u00a0\u00a0This\u00a0will also\u00a0ensure that your business stays in the fore front of their minds so, even if they don\u2019t buy straight away, if you keep sending them updates and offers, they may well do later on.<\/p>\n

You can also put a \u201csignature\u201d at the bottom of your e-mails which not only contains your name but your company name, website\u00a0and contact details.\u00a0 As your contacts will have colleagues, friends and family who they may forward your e-mail on to, which will spread the word about your company to people who may not have ever heard of you before!<\/p>\n

Ah, so that\u2019s Email Marketing? <\/u><\/p>\n

But that sounds like a whole load of time consuming work doesn\u2019t it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, Email Marketing doesn\u2019t have to be time consuming, in fact you can almost completely automate the whole process of Email Marketing with a clever piece of software called an Autoresponder.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Introducing Aweber<\/h2>\n

Take a look at Aweber<\/a>, this is brilliant and so simple to set up and makes Email Marketing a breeze.\u00a0 Aweber<\/a> will allow you to put a \u201copt in\u201d box on your site which is basically a form that will collect all the e-mail addresses\u00a0of those who \u201copt in\u201d for more information or updates from you.<\/p>\n

It will arrange these into \u201clists\u201d so you can have an opt in for selling one particular product and another for an unrelated product.\u00a0 It will also allow you to write many pre written e-mails, save them\u00a0and then\u00a0send them to the appropriate list of contacts at what ever time of day you like!\u00a0 So you can be Email Marketing while your asleep!\u00a0 How cool is that?<\/p>\n

What I\u2019ve described above is only a fraction of what Aweber<\/a> can do so don\u2019t take my word for it, definitely check it out.<\/p>\n

So, do you need to be Email Marketing in your business?\u00a0 Well, the answer to that is\u2026 you\u2019d be a fool not to \u2026 wouldn\u2019t you?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
