Basically, they have almost five months to practice with their parents.\u00a0 Many students come to me without any highway experience.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we have to drive on the highway to get to where we are going for the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>I have three kids in the car with me every class.\u00a0 Two get to drive every day, and one is off.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Behind the wheel is a class, and students are taken out of gym for the month that they are driving.\u00a0 They get tested or graded everyday, and they must be able to complete each skill.\u00a0 For example, I had one student who did not want to drive on the expressway, and if he didn&#8217;t drive, I would have to fail him in Behind the Wheel.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As I have stated before, if there is any class that a student would be motivated, it would be this class.\u00a0 I administer the CPTD road test, which allows them to go to the DMV and get their liscense picture.\u00a0 Students need to get a A or B in both Driver&#8217;s Education class and Behind the Wheel in order to be able to take the road CPTD test.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still you have exceptions, to the rule.\u00a0 Just recently, I had a student who drew an inapproriate picture on the back of the passenger seat, in pencil!\u00a0 He did get caught and he will be in detention for a day.\u00a0 I have had students who have attitude and do not like the constructive criticism that is given\u00a0 to help improve their driving.\u00a0 I took those students to the side, and told them if they were not able to accept constructive criticism, they do not belong Behind the Wheel.\u00a0 Usually the talk straightens things out!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The most frustrating things I deal with our students who do not pay any attention to the instruction and when it comes to their turn, they act like they do not know anything!\u00a0 I deduct a point off the student&#8217;s score if they are not paying attention!\u00a0 Another thing that is frustrating is when the student&#8217;s parents do not provide the practice hours that the student needs.\u00a0 They tell their daughter or son they are too busy!\u00a0 Really!\u00a0 I have to\u00a0 assume they run errands and go to the grocery store; those would be good driving times for the student!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>As I have made mention behind the wheel test both the driver and the instructor; I am constantly amazed at some of the things that can happen during our lessons!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>BE AMAZED<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Behind the wheel test \u00a0 Everday behind the wheel test not only the driver but the instructor.\u00a0 Yes, you have pretty motivated students, for the most part; however, you get all kinds.\u00a0 I really love it when the parents decide they do not want to teach their kids at all, and leave it to the [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":573,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-322","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/322","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/573"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=322"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/322\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=322"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=322"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/rainyproducts\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=322"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
