I thought that it served as a wonderful illustration of how we often ignore the guidance that we receive from Source. For me, Source is God. How you define your Source is your personal decision. Think of Source as your connection to the place you came from before you entered into this life.

Do you believe that you are connected to Source? This really requires faith.

We would ask this Power to help guide us, to bless us, to show us the way. Then, when we attract/receive an idea, we oftentimes immediately reject the idea because we do not know how to accomplish it. The truth is, we would not get the idea if we could not do it. So we begin to ask, “Is this a good idea or bad idea“? Is it the “right idea or the wrong idea?“.

In a way, we are looking up into the sky and asking God “are you sure you want me to do this–is that what you really meant“? And here we have been gifted with this beautiful idea, we became emotionally involved with this idea, we planted it and turned it back over to our subconscious mind, trusting that this is going to manifest into our lives. Moreover, when the idea comes, we do not take action on it! Therefore, as we hold onto the ideas that by law want to come us, we typically ruin it by the lack of faith that it is going to happen.

The Story

A man was sitting on his roof because a tidal wave was sweeping through his village. The water was well up to the roof when along came a rescue team in a boat. They tried hard to reach him and finally when they did, they shouted, “Well, come on! Get into the boat!” And he said, “No, no. God will save me.” So the water rose higher and higher and he climbed higher and higher on the roof.

The water was very turbulent, but still another boat managed to makes its way to him. Again, they begged him to get into the boat and to save himself. And again he said, “No, no, no. God will save me! I am praying. God will save me!”

Finally, the water was almost over him, just his head was sticking out. Then along came a helicopter. It came down right over him and they called, “Come on. This is your last chance! Get in here!”

Still he said, “No, no, no. God will save me!” Finally, his head went under the water and he drowned.

When he got to heaven, he complained to God, “God, why didn’t you try and save me?” And God said, “I did. I sent you two boats and a helicopter”.

Rachel’s moral: Source will guide us if we let Him.

Many of you have heard the story below several times.
