There is enough blame to go around!<\/strong> The housing crisis has caused enough heart ache to last us a lifetime. Who is to blame for this disaster? Is it the real estate agent<\/strong>? Is it the mortgage officer<\/strong>? Is it the lender<\/strong>? Is it the invester<\/strong>? Is it the bank<\/strong>? Is it our legislators<\/strong>? Maybe it is the owner of the home? Heaven forbid it be the home owner! I wonder when<\/strong> or if<\/strong> the day will ever come when we will look in the mirror and see who we are.<\/p>\n

If we look at the housing problem, it shouldn\u2019t be too difficult to see that there is enough<\/span> blame to go around<\/span>. The real estate agent<\/em> should be counseling their buyer or seller about the lay of the land. The mortgage officer<\/em> should not draft loans that can not be justified. Justified with common sense, if not on paper. The lender<\/em> and invester<\/em> need to do their homework.<\/p>\n

Our legislators<\/em> have crafted laws to encourage home ownership. It would be difficult to find fault with that position. However, enough is enough! This is probably where the greed and fraud come in. There is not a person on this planet that is not going to watch out for their own best interests. However, when common sense and respect for our fellow man seem to be in question, there is probably something wrong with our actions. The key is to never cross the line.<\/p>\n

We can all find reasons or excuses to take ourselves off the hook. It seems to be part of the human fiber.\u00a0We don\u2019t want to take the blame for anything. If someone else is doing something wrong, we seem to find a way to\u00a0justify our involvement.<\/p>\n

Parenting is a wonderful opportunity to nurture this most difficult problem called the blame game<\/strong>! It all takes time. Nothing happens over night. However, if we give these concerns a high priority in our lives and have a conscious awareness of their importance, we can make a difference. We can make a difference in our kids lives as well as in our own lives. Call it a Grass Roots<\/strong> approach. We all need to remember that our kids are watching. It is very important that we lead by example.<\/p>\n

The work place may be\u00a0the number one battle ground for the Blame Game<\/strong>.\u00a0It is very easy to blame a co-worker or the BOSS<\/strong>. If we could get to a place where we did not view ourselves as the victim<\/strong>, we would have gone the extra mile to better the situation. There is<\/em> enough blame to go around<\/em>. It is very rare this is not the case.<\/p>\n

So what is the solution? The Blame Game has been a problem since we have known about problems! The thought that comes to my mind would be to know where the journey is going to end, before it<\/strong> starts<\/strong>. If we think clearly and ask ourselves, what is the right thing to do, we can avoid most conflict.\u00a0We need to do a better job respecting the feelings of other people and\u00a0build relationships based on mutual trust.<\/p>\n

People with a positive outlook on life and and a willingness to accept responsiblity for their actions generally do not find themselves in the middle of the Blame Game<\/em>! They are also the kind of person people want to spend time with.<\/p>\n

For those of you reading this blog, my hope would be that we all accept responsibility for our actions. You can legislate until we are blue in the face, but the solution to our many problems is more about how WE<\/strong> conduct ourselves, on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
