These include crusty white bread, wholemeal bread, seed and grain breads, as well as sourdough and rye breads.

I recently went down to the Werner’s Oven bakery to buy some bread.

Items Available

Lining the shelves of this bakery was a wide variety of bread rolls, bread loaves, pastries and muffins.

There was an extensive selection of bread, including the wholemeal, sourdough, rye, fruit, seed & grain and soya & linseed varieties, as well as some white bread for those who prefer something plainer.

Pastries available included chicken and steak pies, sausage rolls, croissants and even a German-style pork goulash pie.

There were also a wide variety of muffins available. Some of the usual flavours included banana, walnut and chocolate chip. But there were other types of muffins too, including sour-sweet cherry muffins and banana-walnut-chocolate muffins.

I eventually settled on three items. These included the “Fitness Bread” (a loaf comprising of mainly seeds and grains), a German-style baguette and a couple of banana muffins.

Fitness Bread

This bread loaf attracted me, because of the large amount of seeds and grains present inside it. These included sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, corn, linseed, carrots, oat, red grape skin and sourdough – making it both very healthy and tasty.

After toasting, the bread became crispy and the extensive amount of grains and other ingredients in the bread ensured that it was full of flavour.

This is definitely a bread loaf that I would choose again because it is so tasty and satisfying.

German Baguette

Unlike the Fitness Bread, which is full of grains, this is a plain white, crusty type of bread.

I toasted it in order to make the outside slightly crispy. The result was a light, yet satisfying baguette that was a bit crispy on the exterior, but soft on the inside. I definitely enjoyed eating it, but perhaps I would put it in the oven for a longer duration next time, because it could actually have been crispier.

Banana Muffins

There was a strong, authentic banana aroma erupting from these muffins – because fresh bananas are used in the baking.

They were extremely light and fluffy, which is just the way that I like them.

There isn’t the slightest trace of banana essence – which is definitely a plus point for these muffins. These are also not overpoweringly sweet and the flavour is completely addictive and yummy.

My Verdict

The bakery definitely is worth a visit.

On my next visit to this bakery, I would probably try some of the other yummy looking types of bread, or maybe one of the pastries.

I would also like to visit the restaurant to perhaps eat the pork knuckles or Bratwurst sausages, two of their classic German dishes.

Werner’s Oven6 Upper East Coast Road #01-01/02/03
Singapore 455220

Just a few months ago,
Robert Mercado was a restaurant delivery guy,
And struggling to make ends meet
But now he makes five figures CONSISTENTLY every month

Discover more here!

Learn The “Keep All the Money” Secret Here !

web counter

Authentic German Bread at Singapore’s East Coast This German bakery cum eatery, called Werner’s Oven, had very humble beginnings – it started out as a small German bakery shop on the ground floor of the Parkway Builder’s Centre in 1988.
