Since I began life is this world I’ve almost always had a cat near me. In my family we adore cats and so far we have had an estimate of about six cats, Tigger, Stripes, Fluffy, Violet, Bandit, and the newest addition to our family is Kuma.

The first cat that my family has owned was Tigger. She was a gorgeous golden tabby who absolutely loved her family. She was once an indoor cat but after we found out that my mom was allergic to cats she had to go outside, which was difficult. Why? Because unfortunately since my parents believed she would be an inside cat, they declawed her. Now she had to go outside to fend herself, she had been shot at but she lived a very good life. She put up with being dressed in doll clothes, necklaces, and just being chased all over the yard. She reached an unfortunate end in June of 2010.

Stripes was a kitten when he first came into my life; a cute little Siamese mix with zebra stripes running up his legs; thus the name Stripes. He was my little boy, do you know the saying that ‘you don’t chose a cat, it choses you?’ Well that’s what happened to me. Stripes chose me over my two sisters and my parents; he didn’t like anyone but me. I was so happy. He is one of the only cats I know of that would sit on the shoulders of others, like a parrot, and remain there all day. He would even stay on my shoulders when I went for a ride on my bicycle. He was absolutely wonderful! But unfortunately he met his demise way too soon. He died after he was shot by some people in my village; they say it was an accident but I don’t believe it but I guess I will never know.

The next cats that my family is so blessed to have are Fluffy and Violet the best part is that they are Siamese brother and sister. We got them in June of 2004, they were running around near our village’s post office, and my sisters spotted them. Now we had just lost Tigger a few years earlier and we really missed her so it didn’t take long for the girls to convince my parents to adopt them. Now they live with our family and as their names apply. Fluffy, is a long haired cat with a glowing personality but when we named Violet; she was wonderfully sweet and kind. Now though she is now kind of a random and bosses her brother around. They live peacefully with my family down in Nikolaevsk, being both fat and lazy.

Now Bandit was a kitten when we decided to take him out of the village so he wouldn’t have been taking to the pound and possibly losing his life. We took him a little too soon from his mother, he wasn’t able to eat solid foods so we had to feed him warm milk with a spoon because we didn’t have an eyedropper. He is about six years old now and he has just a bratty, attitude. He acts like he is the king of the world but he does have a daddy complex. Why, does Bandit have a daddy complex? I’ll let you know.

The newest member of my cat family is Kuma, a little black kitty, who is only eight months old, and has a serious attitude. He lives with me right now and I hope until he dies; he is my baby. Well to prove that he has a daddy complex; now I had to take Kuma to grandma’s house because he is an inside cat and I couldn’t leave him alone. He and Bandit fought it out then Bandit began to take care of Kuma and teach him all sorts of nasty habits. Now he scratches the furniture when I taught him not to. Silly kitty.

I do plan on getting another cat but I’m going to wait till Kuma a few years older. That’s why cats are my most favorite of domesticated animals. Anyone have any suggestions for my new baby?

I adore cats, out of all the domesticated animals, they are my absolute favorite!
