Not every lesson learned from Disney is about what or how to have a better experience next time. I took my day of fun and applied it to my business. Not so much my \u201cwork\u201d but my working lifestyle. Read on.<\/p>\n

1. Wear lots of sunscreen or you\u2019ll get burned
\nFlorida has lots of sun. More brightness than I can remember. Need to put on at least 30spf or the locals will know you were visiting and turn into a nice shade of lobster red.<\/p>\n
Being part of a support team and acquiring the right information to do your job is important. Not having members on your team or not taking the time to educate yourself can get you burned out. To do the right things mimick others out in the field already living in their environment. Get some sunscreen as locals do or better prepare yourself for success. This is even more important when you want to have your own business. Its all you.<\/p>\n
2. Whinning doesn\u2019t get you anywhere.
\nDisney was created for kids to capatilize on youth\u2019s fantasies made into a theme park for pleasure and enjoyment. Its really is amazing all the things we can create using our imagination. Its a business like all others. And they really\u00a0make\u00a0it first class. Even though you are excited about all the rides and awesome things to see and do\u2026you know what you sign up for when visiting during Spring break\u2026LINES.<\/p>\n
Yes, there are times you have to be patient. Leads can come quickly or they may not. Sitting and complaining about the next guy (or gal) getting leads or its too hard doesn\u2019t get you anywhere. Its a process and like being funneled from one line to the next, may be what you need to do. However its as many possibilites or rides you want to create that is important. The top leaders have discovered and created new rides and the \u201cfast pass\u201d. So can you.<\/p>\n
3. Arriving late can be a good thing
\nMy sister is a Disney employee. That means I get in to the park with her for free. We have been Disney fans for a long time and from experience know\u00a0by 1pm everyone that arrived to that particular park at 7am is tired and now either going home or to another park. That\u2019s the best time to \u201carrive\u201d.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s the same in business. When are your best times to do be inspired and do business or write your blogs? Have you tried different avenues to market or what is your style and your\u00a0ideal audience? If you do it long enough and the excitment of \u201carriving\u201d is over then you can enjoy what you are doing more and be smart when you are doing your best work.<\/p>\n
4. Always a sucker for ice cream
\nDisney has set up on every corner an opportunity to sell. They dominate when it comes to providing a need even when a customer doesn\u2019t know it. They are one step ahead and sales is their bread and butter. Raining? Bring out the umbrellas and ponchos. Hot? Buy a squirt yourself water bottles with a fan. Heck, you can even get your Princess Ariel cup while you wait in line to see Nemo.\u00a0Two characters in the same area? You betcha ya. Same theme makes more sales for the targeted client. However, there is\u00a0the\u00a0famous Micky Mouse ice cream bar.<\/p>\n
That\u2019s when you hit a home run. Something everyone likes and something only can get at the theme parks. Not the same from the grocery store. Once you see others in the theme park with one you want to buy one. And if you don\u2019t have the classic vanilla with chocolate ears of Mickey, you will get some ice cream. Its refreshing, portable, and worth the calories from walking all day. If you have a unique product, its a matter of time someone is going to come by and purchase your product. Put value, individuality for them easily replocate, and personal style and you got yourself a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar on a stick.<\/p>\n
