Your Header Picture

You can input your own header picture in the EN blog by logging into your blog and clicking on “Home Photo” Under the Appearance tab in your dashboard.

If the “home photo” option is not there you need to make sure your dashboard is NOT in “easy mode”. You can exit easy mode by clicking the button on the upper right hand corner, this will allow you to view the full dashboard.

It gives you the option to upload your personal images so you now longer need to have a half naked Dave Wood on your blog!

Note: If your picture wont sit perfectly in the box it is the wrong size! Open your picture in paint and adjust the size until it is 277 pixels by 277 pixels, then save and reupload it!

2. Your Featured Image

If you are commenting on your blogs on Facebook or liking them and they show up with a gray box next to the link in Facebook you need to set a Featured Image.

This is basically telling Facebook what picture to use, and telling other social sites what’s the important image (in case you have more than one).

You can do this when you insert the picture into the post. Next to the “Insert to Post” box under the image is a “Use as featured image” link, click this before inserting the image and it will show in the lower right hand corner of your post page as Featured Image.

If you forget before you insert your image, click the insert image icon and then go into the “gallery” tab, you will see your images there and can use the same process to select a featured image!

3. Use Tags for Related Posts Feature

To help keep your traffic on your blog you need to use tags. Don’t JUST use your one keyword as a tag, but also include a few more keywords that fit the category.

When someone lands on a post that has a tag in common with other posts on your blog, they will see a “Related Posts” list under your blog.

This will help you keep traffic and get more leads!

4. About The Author Picture

This is straight up copied and pasted from the Support Website, they say it really clearly and easily:

To add your picture to the “About Author” section of the blog our system uses Gravatars and not the profile picture that is uploaded into your Empower Network back office.

To have your picture appear in the “About Author” section of the blog we have made it work just like any other WordPress blog.

Go to:

You will need to create an account with Gravatar using your same email address that you use for Empower Network (the option for creating your Gravatar with a wordpress.com account will not work for Empower Network, you will need to use the same email address as you use withing Empower Network.)

Upload the picture you want to use.

Gravatar will provide you the option to crop the photo to size.

Once you have cropped the photo you will need to select a rating for your photo. You will want a “G” photo as your Gravatar.

Allow the site time to reset and clear the cache and your Gravatar will now appear as your “About Author” photo on your blog.

To add text in the ‘About Me’ section, so people can get to know who YOU are:
Log into your blogging dashboard
Click on Profile (You will see this on the lefthand side of the page)
In the middle of the page, you will see a section called, “About Yourself – Biographical Info” This information will show on every page of your blog, so it is very important that you fill this out.

The “About Me” section can hold up to 500 characters.

The more that people learn about you, the better the chance that they will want to work with you. Remember to be yourself.
You may also use HTML code, if you wish to include hyperlinks (ie..a link to your personal blog) in your bio area.

Now, you’ve got your technical Empower Network hacks set up…. go get blogging!!!!

Empower Network blogs are all about traffic, traffic, traffic.
