{"id":10,"date":"2013-10-20T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-10-20T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/naho\/god\/"},"modified":"2026-07-25T19:08:41","modified_gmt":"2026-07-25T19:08:41","slug":"god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/naho\/god\/","title":{"rendered":"Nancy&#8217;s take on God"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<span><span><\/p>\n<p>Yea, I\u2019m going to bring up God.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m compelled to for several reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Foremost in my mind is the amount of new friend messages I get from people who are reaching out desperately for someone to read between the lines\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Have you seen this?<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>How are you today,i really love your pictures you look so sweet and beautiful i will like to introduce my self to you, my name is xxxxxx xxxxxxx, as it is my pleasure to write you after viewing your profile at Facebook and i love it which really interest me in having communication\/friendship with you if you will have the desire with me, please i will like you to contact me back soon with my email address, <span>xxxxxxxx<\/span>2013@yahoo.com So that i can send you my pictures for you to know whom i am and i will tell you more about myself to know each other or you can send me your email address. Yours new friend<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds innocent enough, right?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been receiving something similar to this almost every day from that many people. \u00a0They all want me to give them my email\u2026 \u00a0I did one time! \u00a0Almost immediate spam started pouring in!!! \u00a0Good thing I didn\u2019t give my primary.<\/p>\n<p>Suppose that was my intuition working\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Anyhow, I have also been approached on skype so I now have a \u2018can\u2019 comment I send back stating \u2018no thank you\u2019, what do you do for a living? \u00a0\u2026they never reply!! \u00a0Go figure. (now read between those lines!)<\/p>\n<p>So, what does this have to do with God you ask\u2026<\/p>\n<p>During the past months that I\u2019ve been receiving these messages, I have grown! \u00a0I\u2019ve grown to look a god with a new perspective and awareness. \u00a0Is she really saying something between the lines?\u2026 \u00a0<span>(feel free to leave a comment below)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I was raised Presbyterian \u00a0and baptized at 16 in a Congregational Church. \u00a0During my teenage years, Mom wanted me to make an informed choice so we went to different churches each Sunday\u2026 \u00a0some we returned to and others we didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>There was one that made me want to throw up during the service. \u00a0Probably something to do with an empty stomach and all that incense. \u00a0We always went to breakfast afterward.<\/p>\n<p>I saw first hand via summer bible school how different some of them could be! \u00a0Some taught the scripture, others just did crafts, still others did a combo of stuff. \u00a0There was one that just had us spend two months memorizing the names of the books of the Bible! (and there was crafts, too)<\/p>\n<p>I had a pretty good idea that I didn\u2019t really resonate with Christianity all together but that the Congregational church came the closest to \u2018we love everyone, no matter who you are\u2019 and I did resonate with that.<\/p>\n<p>My Mom told me a joke one time that I didn\u2019t get\u2026 \u00a0The Apollo astronauts came back from space and the reporters were hot for story. \u00a0The first question was, \u201cSo, you saw God. \u00a0What did he look like?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The reply was, \u201cWell, for one thing, she\u2019s black\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t get the joke but it DID invoke some thoughts in me that I hold today about perception. \u00a0Does everything need to fit into a mold of what <span>they say<\/span>? \u00a0I think NOT!<\/p>\n<p>I was not exposed to \u2018other\u2019 religions anywhere locally other than in school. \u00a0I was aware that there was other belief\u2019s out there but never really became familiar with them. \u00a0Didn\u2019t need to, they weren\u2019t part of \u2018my\u2019 culture.<\/p>\n<h2><span>I will state right here and now that I am not educated on religion or God! \u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>I now know that I don\u2019t need to be! \u00a0<\/span><br \/><span>And here\u2019s why\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s not necessary. \u00a0I have studied throughout my life the tip of the iceberg called man and always knew there was more for me. \u00a0How did I know that? \u00a0God. \u00a0I believed what I was told as a child, that there is plenty of abundance for all. \u00a0Everything is infinite and divine.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t believe that my faith worked for me, however. \u00a0Too many prayers unanswered (or so I thought) and too much time wasted trying for more and never getting there. \u00a0Just didn\u2019t work for me. \u00a0Somehow, I wasn\u2019t worthy of the good life.<\/p>\n<p>I didn\u2019t even become aware of these feelings until my 30\u2032s. \u00a0That was a period of time in my life when I lived alone for many years and got to know myself better and learned to love myself. \u00a0But then my prayers started getting answered!<\/p>\n<p>Yep, things started going in the direction I wanted them to and life got better. \u00a0My 40\u2032s were much better financially, emotionally, intellectually. \u00a0But, somehow I still felt I wasn\u2019t really getting where I wanted to go.<\/p>\n<p>So I went in search of \u2018\u2018. \u00a0Eventually, I found it. \u00a0Mid 50\u2032s!!! \u00a0I was slow but I got there. \u00a0Now my pace has quickened!<\/p>\n<p>I have discovered that the Bible (for the most part) was right. \u00a0I also discovered that there are only around five religions in the world and <strong>they all teach the same thing<\/strong>, the same message about the infinite and the power and the glory.<\/p>\n<p>And, they all pointed right to me. \u00a0They all point to you as well. \u00a0Each and every one of us is an infinite being capable of God-like action because we are God and God is us.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s me.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s you.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s them\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s us.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the divine white light.<\/p>\n<p>I was 10 years old in 1968 which was a huge year for hippie culture, peace, love\u2026 \u00a0I didn\u2019t get it then. \u00a0I began to along the way\u2026 \u00a0and how wonderful it is. \u00a0They were right, in my opinion.<\/p>\n<p>I knew I loved the music. \u00a0It still resonates with me to this day.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Those Were the Days, my friend. \u00a0We thought they\u2019d never end. \u00a0We\u2019d sing and dance for ever and the day. \u00a0We\u2019d live the life we choose. \u00a0We\u2019d fight and never lose. \u00a0Those were the days, oh yes those were the days.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Today, I am so happy and grateful that my life has evolved to a point where I enjoy a greater awareness of my God and self love (not in a selfish way).<\/p>\n<h2>I am so very grateful and thankful for the formless substance that surrounds everything.
