There is so much information in the Costa Rica Mastermind obviously I cannot share it all here (you\u2019ll just have to get it yourself!), but I can share one gold nugget I learned from one of the lessons in hopes that you can learn something of value here today.<\/p>\n

One of the lessons I learned was about speaking your prospect\u2019s language\u2026 and how to tell a story that relates feelings and experiences we all go through to making a buying decision\u2026 and using these stories the right way gets your prospect to say yes\u2026 enthusiastically\u2026 and whip out the \u2018ol credit card and start buying your stuff.<\/p>\n

Dave Wood used the example of how he met his wife\u2026 and as he told the story, he explained key points that he was making through the story\u2026 and the amazing part of it all was that somewhere in the middle I got lost in the story, I forgot what I was supposed to be learning, and then at the end when he delivered his \u201cclosing\u201d statement \u2013 I was in awe.<\/p>\n

Pure and simple awe.<\/em><\/p>\n

I quickly whipped out my notepad and began taking notes.\u00a0 I wrote out his entire lesson, word for word, and studied it until I got the flow of it.\u00a0 I then thought about how I could use a personal story in my own life that other people can relate too.\u00a0 It had to be a good one\u2026 like a story about making a tough decision\u2026 but I didn\u2019t want to sound \u201cscripted\u201d because that certainly won\u2019t work.<\/p>\n

I took the main points of the story and worked it out like this for quick access in my cluttered brain:<\/p>\n

1:\u00a0 \u201cIt reminds me of a time when I ______\u201d or \u201cY\u2019know how it is when you ______?\u00a0 Well one time\u2026.\u201d\u00a0 Basically you segue into a story and just start telling it.<\/p>\n

2:\u00a0 I was sitting there in (fear, in shock, in suspense\u2026) facing the (decision).\u00a0 Describe how you FELT in front of that once-tough decision.<\/p>\n

3:\u00a0 I (took the step, made a leap of faith, I just did it, I said to hell with it) and did it\u2026 and at that moment, you know what happened?\u00a0 I felt (free, liberated, empowered, ALIVE)\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

4:\u00a0 Because sometimes, especially when it\u2019s tough to tell, you just have to (do it, jump in, go with it, decide)\u2026 right?\u2026 because (that\u2019s when things start to change in your life, that\u2019s when you get to solve a problem even though it might sound scary, when you make these kinds of decisions\u2026 you get to experience change in your life, that\u2019s what life\u2019s all about\u2026)<\/p>\n

5:\u00a0 \u2026 and it\u2019s the same when you (buy this product, join the deal)\u2026 you\u2019re going to get (benefits, benefits, benefits!) and later on, when you (experience benefits) you\u2019re going to look back at this and LAUGH about it!<\/p>\n

6:\u00a0 So stop pulling my leg ____! Are you going to (buy, join) and start (getting benefits) or are you going to (keep sitting on the fence and waiting, turn away and regret it, look back in regret, watch other people (get benefits)?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It can even be as simple as saying: \u201c\u2026it\u2019s like getting on a roller coaster for the first time\u2026 y\u2019know?\u00a0 It looks scary and dangerous at first, but then afterwards you\u2019re glad you just did it, and it turned out to be a blast, right?\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Of course this is a guideline<\/span> and you should adapt it naturally into your conversation.\u00a0 Don\u2019t make it complicated!\u00a0 My advice is to just learn it\u2026 and when the time is right it will just flow out of your mouth in your own style!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s My Costa Rica Mastermind Success Story<\/span><\/h2>\n

I\u2019m seeing some success in my MLM using a cool facebook strategy that got someone to send me a message requesting that I call them about the results I\u2019m getting from the product I\u2019m using\/promoting (using this blog<\/a> <\/p>\n

I called her and we spoke for a while, and I didn\u2019t talk about my products or company.\u00a0 I talked about her, how\u2019s her life, her family, and she was really nice but pretty soon she demanded that I tell her about this product.<\/p>\n

So I just gave her some very simple information about what the product does (benefit) and then asked her some questions about what her goals are.\u00a0 After telling me what her goals were I said ok well most of our customers report experiencing (benefits) and then I followed up with my personal testimonial.<\/p>\n

She responded with what\u2019s known as a \u201creflex objection\u201d (the most common one is \u201cI\u2019m just looking\u201d).\u00a0 She said \u201cWell I\u2019ll take a look at it\u2026 I\u2019ve tried (similar commercially available products) before and I don\u2019t get the results.\u201d<\/p>\n

At that point, any convincing that I try to do will result in resistance so I immediately asked her about what she did before that didn\u2019t work. I immediately remembered what I had learned in the Costa Rica Mastermind and began to formulate a response.<\/p>\n

After she talked I said \u201cWell \u2018Jane\u2019 I know you\u2019re not sure about the product\u2026 and that\u2019s ok\u2026 there are a lot of claims out there and unfortunately some people lie\u2026 you know what \u2013 it reminds me of the time when I joined the Air Force, believe it or not\u2026<\/p>\n

I was sitting there, still in high school, with no college and nothing but a job at a pizza place\u2026 and I was sitting there at the recruiter\u2019s office\u2026 thinking about joining up but I was completely terrified!<\/p>\n

I had looked it over 10,000 times and I was sure that this was the best decision\u2026 at least in my mind it sounded good but wow I had a ton of fears\u2026 I didn\u2019t know if the drill sergeant was going to scream my head off and make me clean up the mess or if I was going to get shipped off to some miserable place or what!!\u00a0 I heard some horror stories\u2026<\/p>\n

And when you\u2019re about to make a tough decision like that, it\u2019s ok to be afraid\u2026 I mean, your life\u2019s about to change and you think it\u2019s going to be better and you want it to be better, but you just don\u2019t know until you make that decision and go with it\u2026<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what I did!\u00a0 I signed the papers and you know what happened?<\/p>\n

I felt so incredibly empowered that I made that choice\u2026 and the recruiter stood up with a proud look in his eye and shook my hand and welcomed me in.\u00a0 It was such a liberating experience!<\/p>\n

And she said \u201cwow\u201d.\u00a0 She was into the story and was relating \u2013 because she probably watched \u201cFull Metal Jacket\u201d at one point in life, and although the Vietnam era Marine Corps is nothing like the late 90\u2032s Air Force, people outside of the armed services tend to group it all into one broad \u201cArmy\u201d category.<\/p>\n

Then I continued in a joking way with \u2013 \u201cNow \u2018Jane\u2019, buying (product) is not as risky as joining the military\u2026\u201d and she laughed\u2026 and I said so here\u2019s what I want you to do\u2026<\/p>\n
