<\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n When you first go into business building mode your first consideration is cashflow (or it should be!) but you are also thinking about saving money as you have limited resources (usually) and time so you try to do everything yourself to save as much money as possible to put back into your business. Most reject the idea of hiring a team<\/em> of people to help them straight out because it will cost them money but in reality it usually costs them more.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n We all have strengths and weaknesses, the key is in recognising those and also recognising that if we farm out the things we are not good at we will save ourselves alot more than we will spend. Weaknesses work against us, strengths work for us. Find a team<\/span> of people who compliment your current skill sets by doing well what you do not. This will save you both time and money and ultimately make you more of both!<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n It is a great idea to take a stock take of yourself before starting your business, figure out what your most productive skills are and what you are horrible at and be honest with yourself because in the end, you are the one that will suffer if you are not. Now make a list of people you know who may be able to do those tasks for you and if you do not know anyone then there are a few options you might consider. My first recommendation would be to hire a virtual assistant to join your team<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Use a company that specialises in virtual assistants, that way if one assistant is unavailable for any reason they will have a back up to cover your tasks. A good firm has a staff with a multitude of talents at your disposal. Using local firms will support your economy and country but will be more expensive, using a firm in say India or Asia will cost far less and may be the better option until you are established and cash is flowing well. Take the time to research each VA team<\/em> to find a good fit for your business. Timothy Ferriss covers this section well in his book \u2018The Four Hour Work Week\u2019, he also names reputable firms to use.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Once you have gained the trust of your team<\/span> (and you trust them too) things will actually flow better in your business, if they are not flowing then you need to take a look at the mechanics. Being able to trust others opens you up for greater productivity, you are able to tap into the skills of your team which gives you greater scope, trust promotes creativity and creativity promotes growth.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Paying a team<\/strong> of people to take care of the things you are not good at or don\u2019t have the time to do is just good business sense.
