I have been shopping at thrift stores<\/strong><\/em> my whole life, my mother introduced me to the habit and it stuck. Of course, for most of my life shopping at thrift stores<\/strong> <\/em>has been a matter of necessity not choice and I think that is the case for a lot of people in this world and current economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are several great points about shopping at thrift stores<\/strong><\/em>: you don\u2019t have assistants hovering about waiting to ponce once you show the slightest hint that you might need help (please note that not all shops have this affliction, the really good shops have courteous and very helpful staff but there are places out there in the retail world that have terrible staff as well), you can spend as much time as you want browsing and trying things on, they are cheap!, there are a lot of them about and they are usually very well set out so it is easy to find specific things you may be looking for, the range is incredible, thrift stores<\/strong><\/em> are not fussy about the brands they carry and you can use them for evening wear, house wares, sports wear and equipment, casual wear, party costumes, business wear, book shopping, footwear and outdoor as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you were like me growing up, you love to dress up and believe me, there is no better place to play dress up than at a thrift store<\/strong><\/em>. Yes, I know that everything is pre-loved and that some things are more pre-loved than others but there in lies the beauty of shopping at thrift stores<\/strong><\/em>\u2026..you never know when you are going to get the bargain of a lifetime! The thrill has been in the hunt and it is no different when shopping at thrift stores<\/strong><\/em>. I have picked up so much brand new and pretty near brand new top brand clothing for my whole family over the years that I am sure I have saved us literally tens of thousands of dollars.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

Now don\u2019t get me wrong, since I have been able to afford to go to boutiques and high end stores I very much enjoy shopping there as well and I know I can and deserve to spend my money anywhere I please and there is nothing better than the feeling of walking into a shop and seeing something you want and not looking at the price tag at all and just buying it and there are just some things that you will never find in thrift stores<\/strong><\/em> but even though I can, I still find it difficult to pay thousands of dollars on a dress when I can find one just as stunning at a thrift store for a fraction of the price and then I can go spend the difference on something that really matters but that is just me.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shopping at thrift stores<\/strong><\/em> has given me hours of pleasure over the years and it will continue to in the years to come because I will never stop going to them even though I don\u2019t need to. It is not about the need, it is about the fun of looking through the not so good stuff to find the gems hidden, it is like looking for buried treasure and it allows me to play dress up occasionally and perhaps discover a new way of being me )<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
