30 days \u2019til Austin<\/em><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been in Toronto, Canada, for 12 days now. I came to visit my family but, mostly, I wanted to give the traditional work industry one last shot. I want to understand why people cling to this industry so strongly, why they try so hard to defend having a job and a boss. I\u2019m sure there must be something behind this\u2026<\/p>\n

I challenge you, Traditional Work Industry, so surprise me!
\nChallenge accepted.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

And to rise up to the challenge, I came to one of the most economically stable and prosperous countries in the world: CANADA. Let\u2019s see what magic is this that was bewitched so many people.<\/p>\n

Bring it on!<\/p>\n

\"111212-1448\"<\/a>I\u2019ve been in Toronto for 12 days and I still haven\u2019t found a job. True, I admit that I have decided to be a bit picky. If I\u2019m going to be working here it might as well be something I like and that will look good in a resume (or CV, whatever. I only discovered the difference 4 days ago.). I don\u2019t wanna throw myself at the 1st job I find.<\/p>\n

In the meantime some personal\u00a0acquaintances\u00a0aren\u2019t too happy with this decision of mine. I\u2019ve been in the restaurant industry in the\u00a0Portuguese\u00a0community\u00a0in Toronto last Summer, but for some reason someone insists that I should return to that.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not the same person I was one year ago. And that\u2019s a good thing! I\u2019ve learned a lot, grown a lot, and got involved in a [before] alien world called\u00a0Working from home Industry<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not the same person I was one year ago, and I learnt a lot, but specially learnt more about myself.<\/p>\n

But there is one thing that I have learned that I had a real hard time realizing and seeing in myself. That thing is my today\u2019s Sentence in my Countdown Journal:<\/p>\n

I have value!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

And lots of it. I have lots to offer the world. I\u2019m worth a lot more then a night shift in a bakery, I\u2019m worth a lot more then any boss, I\u2019m worth a lot more then any minimum wage, employee,\u00a0schedules that aren\u2019t my own, money that\u2019s never enough, I\u2019m worth A LOT more then all that.<\/p>\n

And you know why I\u2019m worth a lot more then that?<\/p>\n

Because I\u2019m FREE.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

And what I wish the most is that everyone can be free, but it\u2019s your call.<\/a>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

YOU are worth a lot more then any boss or minimum wage!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let my Sentence of the day be a mantra for all those who think that a minimum wage is a reflection of your worth.<\/p>\n
