I wanted to share with you an idea that came to me as I was looking for something valuable to write on my blog for the day.

Since I began blogging I’ve realised that my blog is more than just a great way to share my ideas and provide an avenue for aspiring marketers to find a foot-hold in their ascent to greater heights. The metaphor of the mountain trail is quite good actually. We set our sights on the top of the mountain and we decide, come what may, that we’re going to conquer it.

Pure untarnished phonic emotions conveyed in pristine condition directly to your inner soul through your ears.

It was a bit like that when I launched into internet marketing myself. I’m a composer and an artist, but trying to sell art or music on the internet you find that great art or music just isn’t enough. You have to learn how to market, or you’ll never make it. You might have the most awesome music or the most original art, but until you learn how to market, promote and sell, you’ll be simply hoping for your fortune.

Looking back on my life since I moved to France 12 years ago, I can truthfully say we’ve been through some tough times. When we moved I didn’t speak French, so getting a job was very difficult. For some time my wife’s job supported us, and I’d get manual labour types on and off. I was willing to do whatever it took, to keep the roof over our heads and food on the table. I’m not proud to say it, but we even had to pass through the charity food hand-outs one year…. I felt like shit. So low in my own esteem.

But I knew one thing that was for certain. I was not going to stay there.

I had to learn French and I had to get out of manual labor jobs before it killed me.

Finding the courage that you didn’t know you had.

When you hit bottom you only have yourself to turn to for the energy and to find the reason to get going again. My wife was very supportive and understanding but I had to get my shit together and find the pitbull in me to get out of the handout line and start my road up. My reason was my family of course, as it almost always is.

On my way back up the mountain, always focused on the top, I did learn French, at least well enough to speak and read and get myself understood. (I’m no expert in grammar but I can get my ideas across.) I had to leave the last manual job in a concrete panel factory due to back problems (lifting 150 pound slabs between two is a killer!)

So, there I was, out of work and wearing a back support at the age of 43. I tried anything I could get and reached the end of my” rights to welfare”. Nothing. I had nothing to show after two years trying. That was the lowest point in my life. I felt like a failure, and trying to put on a brave face for my 3 sons. I determined to find a job that I could do that didn’t involve being a grunt worker, I had to use my head.

I decided to use what I knew of computers and the internet that I’d learned in France having had to get myself an email, and applying what I already knew I rapidly acquired new competences. I learned about e-mail and servers and HTML and hosting accounts and on and on, for months, all self taught, in french with a dog-eared dictionary ) spending practically all day at the “cyber café” while searching for jobs online. In fact I became so good at using the jobcenter search engine (which was crap by the way) I’d teach other less savvy people how to use it. Frankly it was a nightmare of badly done programming. It’s a wonder anyone found a job in France with it.

I did finally get a break, and got a job in the local council as a computer technician and began working up from there. I used the knowledge I’d gained helping my sons become computer literate ( they overtook me easily!) and applied for a computer technician job.

I turned up for the interview and I was like a pitbull after a bone. I wanted that job and nothing was going to stop me. I completed the test assignments ( no other candidate did) and despite my language handicap. I persisted in calling every day to find out if I’d been accepted. Eventually (the process is slow in these places) I was told ‘yes’ and to begin the following Monday.

Looking back I found that I’d made several major decisions along the way that came into reality by being persistent and believing in myself even when the odds were stacked against me.

I knew I wouldn’t stay down and out.

I knew that I was worth more .

I knew that I have what it takes to change the situations in my life and turn them around.

I was focussed on my future success, even though at that moment I had NO IDEA how I was going to make it up. I just determined that I was going to do so.

Failure was not an option.

That’s how I eventually got into marketing on the internet. I knew that my day job wouldn’t take me where I wanted to go and I knew that I was smart enough to learn what I needed to know in order to create an additional on-line income.

Truth be said, it’s not for everyone. You have to be persistent and you have to be willing to try and fail and to try again. But, factually, there are many people who have made the internet marketing business their second and eventually even primary business, and I’ve determined to be one of them!

I’m building my online business and growing a little more each day, and I don’t need to “be Rockafeller to help a fella” and I’ll help anyone who wants to get started with their own online business. So with all this in place then we could finally move out of the apartment and (as we were also fostering) we got a house on mortgage and redecorated as we go.

Using the courage that got you started to keep you going when it gets tough.

I’m lucky enough to have found a great team that helps keep me focused, showing me the best places to market and how to build a list and increase my income. They’re the reason I can still be here building, so I’m very greatful for them. There are bonuses to be had with my team here, independence, live hangout coaching, no-BS straight talking, and direct methods to get the results I want.

If that sound like a team you want to be part of, contact me.

This post might be found in a number of places so just hook up with me on Facebook.

http://facebook.com/jeremusic1

Thanks for listening!

And as I always say, (and for good reason!)

Flourish and Prosper! (that’s an order!)

Jeremusic AKA Jeremy Feldmesser

What the mind can conceive , the mind can achieve.
Napoleon Hill – Think and Grow rich

<a title="Personal development is tough.
