In today\u2019s politically correct society have we lost the art of really being hones<\/strong>t?\u00a0 I know as a beginning blogger I have found some of my posts or comments on by Facebook wall have come with some criticism.\u00a0 When I read these comments I feel the hairs on the back of my neck start to raise.\u00a0 Even though I was reading these comments in the privacy of my own office, I felt physically uneasy.\u00a0 I felt that I was being scolded by some higher authority.<\/p>\n I gave away my power to these unknowns, thinking that they were somehow right and I was wrong.\u00a0 But really, these comments were their opinions and I could take it or leave it.<\/p>\n \u00a0The greatest part of being a blogger and speaking your truth is the ability to find others that are attracted to you by the words that you speak.\u00a0 If I am not honest<\/em> with my posts how would I be able to build an online presence with people who like and trust me and what I have to say.<\/p>\n One of the things that have been a block to me being honest in my blogs and knowing what to write,\u00a0 is the fear that if people really knew who I was by the words I write they wouldn\u2019t like me.\u00a0 Now logically, I know that people like me.\u00a0 But emotionally this fear sometimes get the better of me.<\/p>\n So I wanted to tell a little story about a seminar that I took many years ago.\u00a0 There was a group of seminar that I was introduced to by someone I met at a business seminar.\u00a0 I was at a seminar about selling.\u00a0 As usual I was in the back of the room trying to be just a fly on the wall.\u00a0 The instructor was introducing a company that held personal growth seminars that would be instrumental in helping us with sales.\u00a0 This couple came up to the front of the room to talk about their program.\u00a0 Now I don\u2019t really remember what they said, but I do remember that the women for some unknown reason scoped me out and as me to come to the front of the room.<\/p>\n I was trying to be a fly on the wall, not someone who was going to be used for their demonstration.\u00a0 I don\u2019t even remember what she said to me, but I do remember that out of the 50 or so people who were in that room, she picked me.\u00a0 Yicks!!!!!<\/p>\n It was such a powerful moment that I signed up and took all the seminars that this company had.\u00a0 Some very powerful emotional events came up in these seminars.\u00a0 Some that couldn\u2019t have been planned but were so right for me and my personal growth.<\/p>\n One of the many events that happened was an excercie that they did.\u00a0 Now you have to remember that this was back in the early 1990\u2032s.\u00a0 These seminars were going on all over the US.\u00a0 My sister even did some when she was working for the FAA.\u00a0 Unfortunately, her\u2019s were not as memorable as mind.<\/p>\n But to get back to this event, there were about 25-30 people in the group.\u00a0 The leaders were taking people out one by one.\u00a0 We were told that there were some terrorist ( remember we are in the 90\u2032s) outside and that they were going to kill us one-by-one.\u00a0 The people in the room would vote for the person who would go next to their death.\u00a0 But before the vote they would read a sentence that would describe the person and we would vote for the person who had those characteristics.<\/p>\n As I am rethinking this event some of the things that went on are a little foggy, but I do remember that me and another girl were the last 2 people left .\u00a0 I was sent out before the other girl.\u00a0 And the sentence that was rea dabout me was : The person who would be missed the most but would never know it!\u00a0 Boy, that was powerful.<\/p>\n And as I remember those words and the times that I spend with those people, I remember the power that I had to speak my truth and be honest<\/span> with the way I live my life.<\/p>\n So for now on I will post with what I think, whether or not someone else thinks that it is polically correct and learn to never give my power away again.<\/p>\n PPS \u2013 Want to learn more from my life stories and just need to find out now, just give me a call.\u00a0 I not really scary like my pit bull.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Are You Honest With Your Posts?
