\nExpress gratitude<\/strong> to maintain your personal and business relationships.<\/p>\n

As we grow up and go through life, there are going to be countless people who do favors or nice things for us. Without these favors we may get stuck between a rock and a hard place. <\/p>\n

Usually, these favors are done with nothing expected in return. When that happens we need to at least say \u201cThank you.\u201d But sometimes, we\u2019re looking to do a little bit more to show appreciation for the things people do for us. Showing gratitude can be as simple as a handshake and a smile, but there are many ways to express gratitude to the people who do things for you in life.<\/p>\n

Here are a few ways to express gratitude:<\/h2>\n

1. Buy Dinner \u2013 If someone has done something for you that\u2019s deserving of at least some kind of reward, the easiest way to express gratitude<\/em> is to take them out to a moderately expensive dinner, while fitting the bill. Don\u2019t be afraid to throw in a few beers. You may not think that showing gratitude in this way means much, but when someone isn\u2019t expecting it at all, they\u2019ll be plenty happy with your method of thanks. <\/p>\n

2. Offer Your Services \u2013 Everyone is advanced in one trade or another. If someone does a favor for you, feel free to take your professional skills and offer them up for nothing. Expressing gratitude isn\u2019t about a discount, it\u2019s about being kind of enough to not put value on what you offer. Let\u2019s say you\u2019re a landscaper. Perhaps you could mow the lawn of a friend who has done you a favor as a way of saying thanks. Whatever your skill may be, you don\u2019t need to spend hours doing it to express gratitude, but a simple effort can go a long way. <\/p>\n

3. Send Flowers \u2013 Sometimes, the ones who do us favors are too far away for us to be able to thank them personally. If you\u2019d really like a way to express gratitude toward these people, order flowers online, or send them an Amazon gift certificate to show appreciation for what they\u2019ve done. While the amount of money or value of the flowers would have to be determined by you, keep in mind that most people don\u2019t expect things in return for favors, and the thought of sending something is more than enough compensation for those who do those favors. <\/p>\n

4. Send a Thank You Email \u2013 As I wrote in a previous post, \u201cShowing Gratitude, How To Maintain Your Important Relationships,\u201d one way to express gratitude is to take 5 minutes each day to send an email or text message thanking someone who has helped you.
\n\u00a0\n<\/p>\n

There is so much to gain when you express gratitude.<\/h2>\n

Here are examples of relationships that can prosper by expressions of gratitude.<\/p>\n

1. Husbands and wives \u2013 The embers of love can be quickly extinguished if spouses do not show each other gratitude.
\n2. Grown kids to parents \u2013 As everyone matures, it becomes very apparent how fortunate we were.
\n3. Bosses to employees \u2013 Employees can start to resent their jobs and their bosses if they don\u2019t feel appreciated.
\n4. Business people to clients \u2013 Showing gratitude can increase customer loyalty, retention and sales.
\n5. Students to teachers \u2013 This may be the first expression of gratitude that they receive.
\n6. Friends to friends \u2013 Don\u2019t assume your friends know how you feel.<\/p>\n

How do you feel when people show gratitude for something you\u2019ve done for them? That\u2019s how you\u2019ll make these people feel when you express gratitude<\/u> to the special people in your life. Make a gratitude list of all the people you are grateful to. Then express gratitude for all they\u2019ve done. <\/p>\n

Find a reason to express gratitude to these people every day. The more you express gratitude, the more it will come back to you.<\/p>\n
