Turn the promotion into education – Don’t just shamelessly send out one email promotion for a product you believe in. Educate your subscribers to why they should buy that product and how beneficial it is to them.

2. Build a campaign rather than a single email blast – Think of at least three emails which you can send out to interest your subscribers. Yes you will make sales on the first email, but when a second and a third arrive, you gain attention and people are naturally intrigued to see what all the fuss is about. More sales will follow. I explain why below.

3. Plan your campaign around the product time frame – If the product you are promoting is for example a 7 day discount product, then take a look at the campaign plan. Don’t just send out one email in the middle of the launch! This is the lowest period of the whole launch process. Be strategic in your actions, and build a campaign, such as:

i. Email at the start of the promotion ii. Email in the middle of the promotion to remind subscribers that the promotion is still ongoing.
iii. Always always email for the end of the promotion with urgency! Urgency and the thought of missing a sale always creates panic buying! This is where you will make the most sales.

4. Educate your subscribers on multiple platforms – The days of the lone email marketing campaign have all but gone away. There is a new force in town and it’s called ‘Social Media’. Utilize your favorite social media platforms to spread the word!

5. Use your blog as a tool to educate and grab ranking – Your blog is the biggest social media tool you own. It’s all abut you and it’s here you can provide more than a simple email about a product. It’s here you can build walk through videos and complete product reviews. Using your blog can land you on the number 1 spot on Google for a certain product review. Ive done it, check out the link.
/truestory3.php?id=janisanj

6. Take a break and provide some alternative info – Yes take a break! Your subscribers don’t want to hear the same record playing every day, so provide some alternative info or take a rest day. I find an informative blog post helps to give something back in the middle of a promotion. Also, you never know who will re-tweet your post and subscribe to your mailing list in the mean time.

7. Not all your subscribers are online as much as you are – Remember this, you are an online marketer, this means you are online more than anyone else you know right? Ok, this means that your first email can be two to three days old when some of your subscribers open your email. If they are anything like me, I check the new emails first. What is to say your first email hasn’t become lost in the junk of last week!

8. Be innovative with your titles – Variation is the key to success here. Take a look at your past performances of email campaigns and your open rates. You should know what makes your list tick and what emails are opened more than any other. Study what email you open on a daily basis and ask yourself why did you open it? If it works for you, it will work for others.

9. Build a bonus – This is a huge addition to email marketing and a guaranteed winner every time. If you want to make sales and give something back to your subscribers, then a bonus is the best gift you can ever give back! Plus if you mix your bonus page up with your blog post, you can also steal the search engine rankings and hit the number 1 spot for bonus shoppers. Always followup with something informative – Once your email campaign has run it’s course, it’s always a good idea to give something back! Don’t just move on to the next promotion, spend some time building your relationships with your subscribers. It’s not all take take take. Provide an informative blog post, create a Google hangout, connect on Facebook and Twitter. There are a lot of ways to keep the trust of your subscribers. Use them!

Remember to treat your subscribers with the respect they deserve. Remember, most subscribers are there to learn from you, or are on your list for a service you provide. Don’t abuse that privilege.

1.
