It was an epic event when I wandered over to my godaddy account to purchase some domains\u2026.Imagine for a split second google going black..you would have somewhat of a panic attack, right? I know I would.<\/p>\n
Godaddy isn\u2019t that special to me because there are other worthy companies to buy domains from, however godaddy\u2019s customer base is HUGE, I couldn\u2019t even begin to think what those who have hosting and e-commerce sites that are dependent on godaddy to conduct daily business.<\/p>\n
When you buy into a brand like godaddy, there\u2019s a trust there that that 99.99999% uptime holds true and that you can rely on it. No one business is immuned to whoopsies, well maybe google..but none-the-less\u2026<\/p>\n
\u2026.riddle this, there\u2019s a lot darker reasons than the one I got from corporate\u2026this was the email I received explaining the outage\u2026<\/p>\n
\nWe owe you a big apology for the intermittent service outages we experienced on September 10 that may have impacted your website, your email and other Go Daddy services.<\/p>\n
We let you down and we know it. We take our responsibilities \u2014 and the trust you place in us \u2014 very seriously. I cannot express how sorry I am to those of you who were inconvenienced.<\/p>\n
The service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables. Once the issues were identified, we took corrective actions to restore services for our customers and GoDaddy.com. We have implemented a series of immediate measures to fix the problem.<\/p>\n
At no time was any sensitive customer information, including credit card data, passwords or names and addresses, compromised.<\/strong><\/p>\n
Throughout our history, we have provided 99.999% uptime in our DNS infrastructure. This is the level of performance we expect from ourselves. Monday, we fell short of these expectations. We have learned from this event and will use it to drive improvement in our services.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
