Napoleon Hill’s Laws Of Success<\/strong><\/u> is a book I picked up recently to further feed myself the knowledge I need to continually pursue the massive dreams I have for my own life.<\/p>\n I already have Napoleon Hill’s most popular book, Think and Grow Rich<\/u>, and felt it was an incredible addition to my library.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n That book, in addition to the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles, were probably the first books that exposed me to the importance of controlling my thoughts and harnessing the power of my mind.<\/p>\n So when I came across this book, The Laws Of Success<\/u>, I knew I had to grab it. It’s packed with principles, fifteen in particular, that Napoleon Hill deems as important to achieving massive success in life.<\/p>\n With a subtitle of “The Master Wealth Builder’s Complete and Original Lesson Plan For Achieving Your Dreams”, I was intrigued to say the least.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n I’m about two hundred pages into the book so far (it has over six hundred pages), so I’ll share with you a little bit about what I’ve read so far. The first of the fifteen principles Napoleon Hill discusses in the book surprised me, but made a lot of sense.<\/p>\n It didn’t surprise me that it was on the list, but more so that it was FIRST on the list. That shows the perceived importance of what I’m about to share with you now….<\/p>\n Having a definite chief aim<\/strong><\/u> in life is the first step to success. Without completing this step, achieving success is nearly impossible.<\/p>\n Check out this quote from the book<\/u>:<\/p>\n “It is most appalling to know that ninety-five percent of the people of the world are drifting aimlessly through life, without the slightest conception of the work for which they are best fitted, and with no conception whatsoever of even the need of such a thing as a definite objective toward which to strive.”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n This book was written many years ago, but I’m sure the same truth exists today. Which probably explains why there is such a high percentage of the population living unfulfilled, dispassionate lives.\u00a0<\/p>\n Can you imagine getting in your car and just driving for years with no destination in mind? Sounds silly, right?<\/p>\n Well, that’s how I’m viewing the importance of having a definite chief aim<\/strong><\/u>.\u00a0<\/p>\n First of all, the key word here is DEFINITE<\/strong><\/u>. Just as driving your car for years with no destination seems silly, so is the idea of changing your destination every five minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n You’d be headed everywhere but arriving nowhere.<\/p>\n Select a DEFINITE chief aim<\/u>, or purpose, for your life. Make that decision. I know that may take some time to think about and ultimately decide on, but it’s a very important step.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Once you’ve determined the definite chief aim<\/u> for your life, you can use that as your compass in life.\u00a0<\/p>\n If I had DECIDED I wanted to drive from Indianapolis to Los Angeles, someone coming to me with the idea of changing those plans and driving to Florida instead wouldn’t interest me.<\/p>\n Going through life without a definite chief aim is similar to firing up your GPS system, not putting in a destination address, and expecting it to spit out directions.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n Not gonna happen<\/u>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The GPS system requires not only your current location, but also your destination, in order to present you with the proper directions. Your life works the same way.<\/p>\n You know where you are now (your current location). Determine your definite chief aim (your destination). Then, and only then, can you devise adequate plans to get from where you are to where you desire to go (the directions).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n I also believe having a definite chief aim helps you keep focus. If you know where you’re going, it’s easier to discern between what you need and don’t need to do in order to move closer to achieving your definite chief aim.<\/p>\n When you know your target, are focused on it, and are laser focused in on hitting it – it’s much more likely that you’ll hit it.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n A helluva lot more likely than being blindfolded and just throwing darts into the wind.<\/p>\n So, now you know the importance of having a definite chief aim.<\/p>\n The question is….what are you going to do about it now?<\/strong><\/p>\n Please share my blog with your friends!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n DamianJLondon.com<\/span><\/p>\n P.S.
