The episode begins with a flashback of when PJ went to find So Jung. So Jung told PJ that since Yeo couldn\u2019t avoid Kang, one of them may die. However, since fate has already begun, that there is nothing humans can do to fight it. (This answers the question as to why PJ wanted Kang out of the academy.<\/span>)<\/p>\n

After bastard Tae Seo pulls off Kang\u2019s bracelet, Ma Bong Chul takes the opportunity to punch Kang in the stomach with the end of his sword. Ooof! Kang doubles over in pain. A sudden gust of wind blows through the forest. Everyone ducks against the wind.<\/p>\n

When the wind recedes, they are shocked to see Kang\u2019s hands have turned into claws. He breaks the chains like Hulk and has turned into a monster \u2013 green eyed and bushy haired.<\/p>\n

Ma Bong Chul tries to hack at him with a pole-arm but is easily tossed aside. Tae Seo tries to stab Kang, too and Kang claws him in the chest. Kang is shocked at what he\u2019s done as Tae Seo falls to the floor.<\/p>\n

He is about to help Tae Seo but Chung Jo pick up a rock and tries to throw it at him, telling him to go away. She frantically throws leaves at Kang while telling him that she hates him. (um\u2026your brother just tried to kill him first, remember?<\/span>) Chung Jo faints and Kang runs to her. He wants to touch her but is afraid his claws will hurt her.<\/p>\n

Ma Bong Chul wakes up and gets his men on Kang. A war cry breaks out and is heard by Yeo and Gon in the forest. They head towards the direction of the sound and come upon Ma Bong Chul and his men badly injured, all laying on the floor. Ma Bong Chul croaks out to Yeo that Kang was the one who did this. Gon finds Kang\u2019s bracelet on the floor.<\/p>\n

Admiral Lee arrives at the academy and is upset that PJ didn\u2019t stop Kang from leaving, but they are interrupted by the news that GW\u2019s men were heading in the direction of Neung Gok Hill and that Yeo and Gon are not at the academy.<\/p>\n

Yeo and Gon head off to try to find Kang, but hide as they see Seo Bu approaching with guards. Yeo and Gon worry about Kang and agree they should get to Kang quick. Yeo tells Gon that she might know of a place where Kang could be. She leads Gon through the woods and after going in circles they realize she can\u2019t find the place \u2013 the magical mountain and cave that no human can find.<\/p>\n

Kang has taken Chung Jo back to the cave. When she awakens and sees him she\u2019s upset that Kang may have killed her brother. When he tries to go to her, she yells at him to go away.<\/p>\n

She tells him that he is not Kang Chi because Kang Chi was not a monster and would have never killed her brother. She takes off running out of the cave. After running some distance, she runs straight in to Seo Bu and his men.<\/p>\n

Madam Chun is still looking for Chung Jo with no success but receives news that GW\u2019s men are all over the mountain.<\/p>\n

GW is called upon and arrives at the scene where Kang injured all of Ma Bong Chul\u2019s men. He is surprised that all the men were injured by Kang. Ma Bong Chul tells GW that Kang turned in to a monster after his bracelet was removed. GW starts to put the pieces together in his mind and realizes that Kang could be the son of Seo Hwa and Ryung.<\/p>\n

Furious, he demands that Chung Jo tell him where Kang is at. She tells him that doesn\u2019t know. Tae Seo is dragged in still alive. He begs GW to release his sister but is kicked aside. GW tells Chung Jo that if she can\u2019t remember where Kang is at, then her brother will be executed tomorrow morning. He tells Seo Bu to take Chung Jo to the 100 Year.<\/p>\n

After GW leaves, Seo Bu takes matters in to his own hands and have the guards kill Ma Bong Chul and all of his men. Chung Jo watches on, horrified.<\/p>\n

GW arrives as the academy to confront PJ about why he didn\u2019t kill Seo Hwa, allowing Kang to be born. PJ said he doesn\u2019t kill without reason. GW tells him that he knows PJ and the Admiral are up to something and that if they are planning some sort of rebellion, he won\u2019t stand for it. PJ walks off, telling Jin Seoung to throw salt on them. GW swears that one day, PJ will suffer for the way he has treated him, today.<\/p>\n

PJ tells the Admiral that he should stay for the night in case GW\u2019s men are tailing him.<\/p>\n

Kang heads back to the scene where his bracelet was taken off by Tae Seo. He finds Ma Bong Chul\u2019s men laying dead and looks around for the bracelet. Unable to find it, he smells that Yeo was there. He starts to run off to find her, but Ma Bong Chul calls out for him to save him.<\/p>\n

Kang tells him that the world is better off without him because all he did was rob people and wreak havoc. But unable to turn his back on someone who is calling out to save him, he pulls out a small blade and cuts his palm, dripping his blood on Ma Bong Chul\u2019s wound, just like he did for Yeo. Ma Bong Chul watches in amazement as blue lights float around him and his wound heals and faints.<\/p>\n

Kang tries to sneak back in to the academy to find Yeo but is discovered by the students. PJ comes out of his room and asks what Kang is doing there. Kang tells him he is here to see Yeo but PJ tells him that he won\u2019t allow it with him looking like the way he does. Kang yells that he needs to see Yeo and a student pulls a sword on him. He is easily tossed to the floor and Kang has a death grip on his neck and threatens to kill anyone that tries to kill him.<\/p>\n

PJ asks Kang if he is trying to kill a human and Kang responds by saying that the boy tried to kill him first. PJ says he is left with no other choice, but to get rid of him. He\u2019s about to pull a sword and Yeo calls out, \u201cNo, father.\u201d She and Gon have returned from trying to find the cave.<\/p>\n

She runs up to her father and he tells her to move aside. Yeo tells her father that he told her there are no bad people, just bad situations and that Kang is just in a bad situation right now. She tells her father that Kang didn\u2019t do anything wrong and that it\u2019s not his fault.<\/p>\n

Upon hearing Yeo defend him, Kang\u2019s grip on the student loosens and he is able to get away. PJ orders Yeo to move out of the way. Yeo turns and grabs a hold of Kang\u2019s hand instead. He is shocked that she would hold his hands but she takes it a step further. She laces her fingers through his bloody claws, hold tight, and declares that she will not back down.<\/p>\n

Watching her defend him in the way that she is, Kang is touched to his core. His eyes suddenly return back to normal and his claws recede. Everyone is surprised and breathes a sigh of relief as PJ finally lowers his sword.<\/p>\n

With the bracelet now firmly in place, Kang kneels before the Admiral.<\/p>\n

Admiral:<\/strong> I heard there was someone else you left with.
Kang:<\/strong> She saw my real identity and ran away.
Admiral:<\/strong> Is that why\u2026that she was able to make you the way you are?
Kang:<\/strong> The person who I thought of as a brother betrayed me. The person who I tried to protect threw rocks at me. The two people whom I thought were family abandoned me.
Admiral:<\/strong> Didn\u2019t you know that the people who can hurt you the most are the people closest to you?
Kang:<\/strong> She called me a monster.
Admiral:<\/strong> It\u2019s not important how others view you, it is more important how you see yourself.
Kang:<\/strong> No matter what I think of myself, I\u2019m not human.<\/p>\n

The admiral asks Kang what do you want to live as. Kang tells him there is no point in wishing when no matter how you look at it, he is half\/half.<\/p>\n

The admiral tells him, \u201cSomeone who shares your values, someone who can calm your heart, and a nation you would protect for you life are three things that can define your life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kang says that no one will want to share anything with him because of the dirty blood flowing in his veins. The admiral tells Kang that he\u2019s seen countless humans do horrible things but what defines him as a human is not the blood that flows within him, but the effort of the kind of person that he\u2019s willing to live as.<\/p>\n

The Admiral is finally able to get through to Kang and Kang admits that he wants to be human. He then breaks down and sobs like a baby and Admiral grabs Kang\u2019s hand and comforts him.<\/p>\n

Yeo is outside waiting for Kang. When he finally comes out of the room, Yeo is full of concern and peppers him with questions, What happened? Did you get in trouble? Did the Admiral get mad at you? Kang looks at her and asks, \u201cHow is it that you treat me so well?\u201d<\/p>\n

She tells him that she just wants to do whatever she can for him and it is what she feels like doing, right now.<\/p>\n

Chung Jo is brought in to GW at the 100 Year Inn. He tells her to save her brother\u2019s life, she has to sleep with him. When he grabs hold of her, she struggles and tells him to let go. He pulls her in to his arms and asks her, with her parents gone, who will protect her? GW tells her that in order for her to survive now, she needs to take everything that she can and not be embarrassed about the method because there is nothing shameful about living. It\u2019s expected. With that, the evil man deflowers her.<\/p>\n

The next morning Yeo carefully approaches her father while he is in his study\u2026trying to get back on his good side. \u201cGood morning, father. You woke up early. Have you had breakfast, yet?\u201d No luck. He finally looks up and asks her why she is protecting Kang. PJ tells her that Kang is not human and can not be protected by her. She tells him that all they have to do is find the Gu Family Book and he can be human. If that happens, then his fate will change. She tells her father that she doesn\u2019t want to live avoiding reality and in fear of the future. Instead, she wants to face it head on. \u201cAfter all, isn\u2019t that what you taught me, father?\u201d (You go girl!<\/span>)<\/p>\n

Back at the 100 Year Inn, Chung Jo is getting dressed and GW tells her that there is nothing to be ashamed about because she just saved her brother\u2019s life. Tae Seo is brought in upon the realization of what happened, he tries to kill GW with no success. He is beaten to the floor by Seo Bu.<\/p>\n

GW tells Tae Seo that he has one more chance to bring him information about what the Admiral is planning to do with the 5000 yang. If he fails, his sister\u2019s responsibilities will get much worse.<\/p>\n

Chung Jo returns to Chunhwagwan, her eyes full of vengeance. The other gisaengs stop her and ask her if she left without permission. She looks at Wol San straight in the face, and tells her that her fate may be blooming, and asks Wol San what will happen to her as a top gisaeng? Chung Jo walks away leaving Wol San and the other gisaengs confused as to what she is talking about.<\/p>\n

She approaches Madam Chun and tells Madam Chun that she is ready to become a performer (referring to the drums that Madam Chun showed her earlier). She tells Madam Chun that she wants to live again.<\/p>\n

Feeling like a complete weak failure (like he should<\/span>) Tae Seo returns back to the academy. He finds PJ and kneels on the floor crying. Kang approaches the room, remembers that Tae Seo was going to kill him and turns his back. But he recalls Lord Park\u2019s last words to him were that Kang was just a like son to him and for Kang to take care of Tae Seo and Chung Jo.<\/p>\n

Tae Seo tells PJ that he wanted to become just like his father but instead is worthless and rotten. He tells him that he feels sorry for himself for amounting to nothing.<\/p>\n

Kang heads back in to the room and asks Tae Seo how long he\u2019s going to sit there and cry and feeling sorry for himself. Tae Seo refuses to look Kang in the eyes. Kang tells Tae Seo that he needs Tae Seo to look at him. There are so many things that he needs to talk about \u2013 what has happened to him, why he turned into a monster, how scared and lonely he is and the only person that he can say them to is Tae Seo.<\/p>\n

When Tae Seo finally looks Kang in the eyes, he punches him. He keeps punching and punching and punching\u2026and punches some more. Yeo and Gon arrive and Yeo is about to put a stop to it but PJ holds up his hand. Tae Seo is still punching\u2026and Yeo flinches at each hit. (Kang\u2019s face is amazingly still intact considering how much he is getting punched.<\/span>)<\/p>\n

When Tae Seo finally stops, Kang tells him, \u201cThat\u2019s right. Friends \u2013 look at each other.\u201d And just like that, Tae Seo\u2019s hypnotic spell is broken. Tae Seo falls to the floor and wails like a baby with Kang kneeling by his side comforting him with a arm on his shoulder.<\/p>\n

PJ and Gong Dal plan a head on battle with GW that will include the Four Masters.<\/p>\n

Seo Bu reports to GW news about the Four Masters who are hidden masters in charge of the academy. He tells GW that the Four Masters plan to combine their resources with Admiral Lee. GW recalls trying to find them before but they were hidden and he was never able to find them. He shows some concern of what he will be up against\u2026a combination of the Four Masters, Admiral Lee, and Kang\u2026<\/p>\n

They are interrupted by Choi who reports that Masters of High Priesthood have arrived. GW heads out to meet them and there is a mysterious woman in a palanquin hidden behind a veiled red hat. She is the wife of the late Master Miyamoto and is currently in charge of the Masters of High Priesthood.<\/p>\n

Yeo brings Kang a huge bag of beans and tells him that the first step to becoming human is to count these beans. He opens the beans and is overwhelmed by the amount of beans he needs to count.<\/p>\n

Kang is diligently doing as he was told and has counted beans to over a thousand. Yeo is sitting by his side, peppering him with questions about his parents\u2026who are his parents, why did they die, and Kang loses count. He starts over again but suddenly there is a gust of wind. Kang senses something big. He has a feeling of something that he can\u2019t quite place.<\/p>\n

Deep in the forest, under dead vines, a pair of bright red eyes flash open.<\/p>\n

Ahhhh!!! It\u2019s Kang Chi\u2019s dad, Ryung. He is going to come back as the 1000 year demon. Ahhhh! What\u2019s going to happen? Will Kang Chi have to fight his own father? Ahhh!<\/p>\n

Once again\u2026so many questions. I\u2019m wondering why the writers kept Ma Bong Chul alive. Will he later help or hurt Kang?<\/p>\n

What is it that makes Kang return back to normal \u2013 from beast to human? Is it love or is it acceptance? Since he doesn\u2019t quite know that he is in love with Yeo, then can we assume that he can live a normal life if he receives acceptance from all the humans around him? Or is it only Yeo that can bring him back to the human form without a bracelet?<\/p>\n

So Jung had mentioned earlier in the drama that if Kang removes the bracelet he will never be able to become human again. Does this mean that he can\u2019t become human? But then, Yeo had said that as long as they find the Gu Family Book, Kang will be able to become human. Will he have extra hoops to jump through because Tae Seo removed his bracelet?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m hoping that since Tae Seo has finally broken out of his spell, he can do something useful. This guy is the weakest guy in the entire drama. Even his little sister is stronger than him.<\/p>\n

I really like the way the writers are writing Chung Jo\u2019s character. Chung Jo\u2019s reaction to being deflowered by her enemy is exactly what I would have expected from her character, especially since they eluded to her having a vindictive side when she was younger.<\/p>\n

The writers have so far done a good job in keeping Chung Jo\u2019s character the same \u2013 strong and determined despite all the circumstance that life has thrown her. I like that she is taking matters in to her own hands and changing her fate.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m also glad that PJ\u2019s real reason for trying to get rid of Kang from the academy is because he doesn\u2019t want his daughter to die and not the generic reason of simply not wanting his daughter to be with a beast.<\/p>\n

And Yeo Wool. This woman is the heroine of heroines. She saves Kang Chi yet again. And the best part of this episode is fact that she was able to hold his claws, look him in his beasty face, and declare that she won\u2019t back down. It\u2019s awesome how after he felt completely abandoned by his \u2018family\u2019, that there is someone there to accept him no matter what form he is, monster or human. Props to the writers for giving Yeo\u2019s character so much love and props to Lee Seung Gi and Suzy for playing their parts so well and filled with chemistry.<\/p>\n
