I think I was 13 when I first heard the words \u201cVNV Nation<\/strong>\u201c. I was in middle school and I was in the 7th grade.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think I could have foreseen how VNV Nation<\/em> would guide me and help me in my times of need. At the time I just thought they were a cool band with some cool music. Over the years, I learned that VNV Nation<\/em> was more than just a cool band.<\/p>\n

Over the years I came to understand that VNV Nation was producing music that was actually life-changing<\/strong>. Some of their tracks are so powerful that I routinely break down into tears while listening to them. The tracks that hit me on a deeper level have changed over time. It seems like whatever I need support with at the time, VNV Nation has a track that can do it for me.<\/p>\n

VNV Nation \u2013 The Legacy<\/h2>\n

Now, if you\u2019ve never heard of VNV Nation, they are a band that started up back in the early 1990\u2032s. Over the years, VNV Nation has basically defined much of the industrial genre of music.<\/p>\n

The band is comprised of two guys named Ronan Harris (electronics, lyrics, vocals) and Mark Jackson (live drums). Ronan is from Ireland and Mark is from the UK.<\/p>\n

Irish\/English duo VNV Nation have persistently leaped from strength to strength, over the years, emerging as a powerhouse in the alternative electronic rock and industrial scenes. Their unique sound blends thematic lyrics and emotive vocals with influences from electronic music, indie, rock, dance music, classical and much more. The music can range from hard-hitting beats to indie-electronic anthems to haunting ballads to symphonic orchestrations. VNV Nation have also earned incredible acclaim for their energetic live shows and gained a fanatical worldwide following.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

They will make you dance, cheer, laugh, smile, and cry, quite possibly all at the same time<\/strong>. I\u2019ve done this so many times now that I have lost count\u2026<\/p>\n

VNV Nation has produced 12 FULL albums at the time of this writing. They have also produced a ton of singles, EP\u2019s, and remixes. All of their stuff is awesome. I\u2019m pretty sure that they don\u2019t release stuff unless its completely worth listening to.<\/p>\n

What I really love about VNV is that they have been around forever, and they just keep improving and evolving<\/em> every year. They aren\u2019t slowing down, and it\u2019s freken\u2019 bad ass! I\u2019ve been a steady listener for about 9 years<\/strong> now. In all my years of being here, I have yet to come across a band that I have loved more than VNV Nation. They are just that awesome.<\/p>\n

I also love how VNV Nation has turned their passions into their career. Quite honestly, Ronan and Mark are living the life of their dreams. They are performing concert tours that are so long that I sometimes think they are TOO passionate about their music. Their last concert for the Automatic tour lasted about a year and a half\u2026 with a 1-month break in the middle.<\/p>\n

VNV Nation \u2013 The Meaning Behind The Name<\/h3>\n

\u2018VNV\u2019 means \u2018Victory, Not Vengeance\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the most frequently asked questions is what the letters VNV stand for. They stand for \u201cVictory not Vengeance\u201d. The meaning behind this stylized motto is that one should strive to achieve, not sit in bitter regret.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n

Just reading that made me feel better.<\/p>\n

VNV Nation \u2013 The Following<\/h2>\n

Since its inception, VNV Nation<\/span> has accrued quite a large following. However, VNV Nation couldn\u2019t be seen as main-stream in any sense of the word. It\u2019s quite rare to have a band that both has a great following and isn\u2019t main-stream.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve never been to a concert where there are only about 200-300 people and they are all cheering so loud that you can\u2019t hear yourself talk, you probably don\u2019t have any clue what I am talking about. Let me just say, it feels EMPOWERING.<\/p>\n

Their fans are extremely dedicated, often times volunteering to hand out flyers and getting involved in any way they can. VNV Nation regularly have \u2018after parties\u2019, where you can go meet the band and hang out after a show. Sometimes they also go and DJ in other clubs after their main concert.<\/p>\n

Live Tonight \u2013 VNV NATION<\/h2>\n

Whenever I see those amazing 4 words at my local venue, I get so many goosebumps its unreal\u2026<\/p>\n

I have been to five of VNV Nation\u2019s LIVE concerts. I can attest to the fact that if you haven\u2019t been to a VNV Nation concert, you haven\u2019t truly lived. I\u2019m dead serious.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

I would have to say that the five best nights of my life were all<\/em> at VNV Nation\u2019s concerts! \u2026and that doesn\u2019t mean that I have a boring life! It just means that their live concerts are FREKEN AMAZING<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Every time they come to my town I am sure to go see them live. Every concert has been a life-changing and amazingly fun experience.<\/p>\n

So just to recap, if you haven\u2019t heard their music, go search for it on youtube. If you like it, BUY their albums. I highly recommend Automatic <\/strong>(2011), Of Faith, Power, Glory <\/strong>(2009), Judgement<\/strong> (2007), and Futureperfect<\/strong> (2002). Of course, if you like them, go see them in concert, they are 5x better live.<\/p>\n
