Bamboo is becoming very popular and growing to be made for cutting boards for hard wood floors. This can save energy for by way of recycling and less manufacturing of parts.

Try not putting the temperature up too much, as it may be unnecessary. If it’s a bit chilly, try wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants. This saves you from using energy that would be required to sustain heat at that high level.

In your most active rooms, you should put motion detection lights. This turns the lights off in rooms that have nobody in them, which saves a lot of energy (and money). Add these sensors to your outdoor lights, as well.

If you are really committed to going green, one way to do so is to limit how often you use your electric heater in winter. Ways to cut down on electricity include wearing warm clothing indoors and using a fireplace to heat your home. This is good for your health as well as your electric bill.
