Eagles coach Andy Reid figures\u00a0Michael Vick<\/a>\u00a0will be ready for the regular season even if he misses Philadelphia\u2019s two remaining exhibition games.<\/p>\n

At least he wouldn\u2019t get hurt again.<\/p>\n

For his second consecutive game, Philadelphia\u2019s star quarterback lasted just six plays then went for X-rays, this time on his ribs. They were negative, just as they were on his left thumb 11 days earlier.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d probably like to see him play a little bit more, but he\u2019s got enough experience,\u201d Reid said after the Eagles beat the\u00a0New England Patriots<\/a>\u00a027-17 on Monday night. \u201cWe\u2019re not talking about a rookie, so I think he\u2019d be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vick doesn\u2019t have much time to get over his soreness. Philadelphia plays Friday night at the\u00a0Cleveland Browns<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not that concerned, other than he\u2019s hurt,\u201d Reid said. \u201cI want to make sure he heals up and get him back in there. Hopefully, he doesn\u2019t get hurt again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vick was knocked down by linebacker\u00a0Jermaine Cunningham<\/a>\u00a0after heaving a long pass in the first quarter. In a 24-23 win over the\u00a0Pittsburgh Steelers<\/a>\u00a0on Aug. 9, he smacked his thumb on the helmet of center\u00a0Jason Kelce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is just football,\u201d Cunningham said of his hit on Vick, \u201cgoing out there and getting the person with the ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

In both games, rookie\u00a0Nick Foles<\/a>\u00a0came off the bench to throw two touchdown passes. Last year\u2019s No. 2 quarterback,\u00a0Mike Kafka<\/a>, missed Monday night\u2019s game with a hand injury.Trent Edwards<\/a>\u00a0also played against the Patriots.<\/p>\n

Foles, a third-round draft pick from Arizona, finished 18 for 28 for 217 yards and touchdown passes to\u00a0Clay Harbor<\/a>\u00a0of 1 and 3 yards.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did a great job,\u201d running back\u00a0LeSean McCoy<\/a>\u00a0said. \u201cIn the huddle he demanded respect. He put everybody in the right places at the right times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vick went 1 for 3 for 5 yards with one run for another 5 yards. After Cunningham drove his helmet into Vick\u2019s left side, the quarterback went down, got up slowly then knelt on one knee. He was checked by medical personnel before going to the sideline under his own power.<\/p>\n

\u201cMike\u2019s tough,\u201d McCoy said. \u201cI kind of figured it would be all right, even though he took kind of a big blow.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vick had been expected to play at least a half on Monday night.<\/p>\n

Vick wasn\u2019t the only first-stringer knocked out of the game. Philadelphia cornerback\u00a0Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie<\/a>\u00a0and New England safetyPatrick Chung<\/a>\u00a0went out in the first half with shoulder injuries.<\/p>\n
