Inspirational Thoughts \u2013 If I Had My Life To Live Over<\/span>
\n How Erma Bombeck Has Impacted My Life<\/span><\/div>\n

If you could be mindful of your life before you lived it\u2026 would you be more aware of how precious every moment really is?<\/span><\/p>\n

I wanted to share this poem<\/strong> \u201cIf I Had My Life To Live Over<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u201d in hopes that it will inspire you as much as it has me\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER<\/span><\/strong>
\n By Erma Bombeck (written after she found out she was dying from cancer).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren\u2019t there for the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have talked less and listened more.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have eaten the popcorn in the \u2018good\u2019 living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.<\/span><\/p>\n

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn\u2019t show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I\u2019d have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.<\/span><\/p>\n

When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, \u201cLater. Now go get washed up for dinner.\u201d There would have been more \u201cI love you\u2019s.\u201d More \u201cI\u2019m sorry\u2019s.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute\u2026 look at it and really see it\u2026 live it and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t worry about who doesn\u2019t like you, who has more, or who\u2019s doing what.<\/span><\/p>\n

Instead, let\u2019s cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s think about what God HAS blessed us with. And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally. I hope you all have a blessed day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I hope this has been as much of a blessing to you as it has been to me\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
