Q. We all know that broadcasters are not born, so how\/what brought you to becoming a broadcaster and at what age?<\/p>\n

A. I realized a great love for radio specifically when I was 10 years old. I also was very interested in the nightly television news. I still have an audio tape somewhere of my very young voice talking over the DJs introing songs on the radio. As luck would have it, I developed a deep, clear voice and a need to opine on all sorts of issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. How long have you been in broadcasting?<\/p>\n

A. I realized a great love for radio specifically when I was 10 years old. I also was very interested in the nightly television news. I still have an audio tape somewhere of my very young voice talking over the<\/span> DJs introducing songs on the radio. As luck would have it, I developed a deep, clear voice and a need to opine on all sorts of issues.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Tell me about yourself \u2013 something the public may or may not know about you.<\/p>\n

A.\u00a0That\u2019s gonna be hard. \u00a0I\u2019m pretty much an open book. \u00a0I see my audience as friends, \u00a0or co-workers, or neighbors. \u00a0There\u2019s not a lot about me they don\u2019t know. \u00a0I\u2019m an accomplished saxophone player and started playing professionally at 16 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Do you ever interview important people on your shows, if so, tell me about the most famous one and tell me something about that person that people don\u2019t know or realize?<\/p>\n

A.\u00a0I have interviewed many important and famous people; more than I can count. \u00a0I have developed quite a reputation as an interviewer, of top political figures, who isn\u2019t afraid to ask the tough questions while at the same time making them feel comfortable enough to laugh. \u00a0I find the trick is to break \u00a0the ice with a light story or question \u2014 make them laugh \u2014 then you have more leeway with the interviewee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Tell me about the worst radio broadcast you ever did.<\/p>\n

A.\u00a0It was actually on TV. \u00a0I was a television newscaster in Saginaw\/Flint, Michigan during the time of the OJ Simpson trial. \u00a0My co-anchor or I was reading the daily update on the story and one of us read something in the teleprompter incorrectly and we both chuckled under our breath \u2014 then it became laughter and we had to eventually just go to commercial break. \u00a0The producer came out of the booth.. he was none too happy. \u00a0We got it together and came back out.. but that was pretty rough.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. If you would like to give information regarding your personal life\u2026i.e., family, children, parents\u2026.if not, no problem.<\/p>\n

A.\u00a0Married for 21 years to Jenny. Four daughters Cindy Jo, Samantha, Gabriella and Jia. We adopted Jia last year from China. \u00a0My father passed away in 2010. My mom and two of three sisters live in Florida where I grew up. My other sister lives in Louisiana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Is there anything that you have done\/not done that you would like the world to know about \u201cPags\u201d<\/strong>, but you are too humble to tell it yourself?<\/p>\n

A.\u00a0Doing what I do for a living requires a lot of ego \u2014 so, being humble is not a strong point to be successful. But, I would guess people would be surprised by how much I\u2019ve done charitably. I don\u2019t talk about me that much. Also, I\u2019m proud to say I\u2019ve been instrumental in helping many others succeed in broadcasting. I think many would never guess that about me.<\/span><\/p>\n

What I will be doing is to showcase you \u201cJoe Pags\u201d<\/a> and your station, blog, your Facebook page, not your opinions but the character \u201cJoe Pags\u201d. I assure you it will be positive. If you haven\u2019t heard \u201cPags\u201d<\/strong>, you need to listen, he is probably one of the best radio talk show host I have ever heard\u2026he is sensitive, but outspoken, he puts action to his conservative views without being obtuse and his interviews of opposing views is delightful in that he listens and then refutes with dignity and class\u2026..I like his shows, and his saxaphone playing too\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n
