The WALIS Forum has become established as a key opportunity for all levels of government, the private and research sectors and industry to network, share and promote their ideas, new products and services to a wide and varied audience. Over the past decade WALIS Forum has become increasingly attractive and open to a broad range of businesses interested in harnessing the unique qualities of location information and technology.<\/p>\n
This year, the conference is bringing together three previously separate events \u2013 WALIS Forum 2013, Western Australian Spatial Information Conference and the 2013 WA Spatial Excellence Awards (WASEA). These events will be held together at the newly refurbished Crown Perth, Perth\u2019s premier event site.<\/p>\n
The theme for WALIS Forum 2013 is\u00a0Integrate, Transform, Grow.<\/i><\/b>\u00a0This Forum will focus on how companies around the world are using the power of location-based information and technology to integrate information across their operations to transform and grow their business. WALIS will show you how they\u2019re doing it!<\/p>\n
A new addition this year is that the WALIS Forum will open with a Business Leaders Breakfast and industry showcase & exhibition. The showcase will continue into the evening on the first day along with a cocktail reception event for business leaders. We will be repeating highly successful sessions from past years including the Inaugural Western Australian Location Technology Symposium. The conference will close with the Western Australian Spatial Excellence Awards for 2012\/13.<\/p>\n
Established by the WA Government in 1981, WALIS is responsible for coordinating across-government access and delivery of the geographic information held by WA Government agencies.\u00a0 WALIS achieves this through committees\u00a0and the WALIS Office.<\/p>\n
WALIS connects government, the private sector and research communities, to realise the combined value of the State\u2019s location information for the benefit of Western Australia. Location information such as addresses, maps and satellite imagery is the basis for many of the decisions that profoundly affect our lives.
