I just want to take a moment to introduce myself to you. My name is Dahlian Lamy<\/strong>. I was born and raised in the twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. I am the eldest of six children, and come from a large family. My dad is one of seven and my mom is one of 16.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been living in the U.S. since 2000. While in Chicago, I got my bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees. Then I moved to accept a teaching position at a South Jersey university.<\/p>\n

Professional Background<\/h2>\n

It appears that I was born with a stick of chalk in my hand<\/em> and a crown of numbers on my head<\/em>. I am a born educator! Professionally, I have been<\/p>\n

– a high school teacher (math, physics, science);<\/p>\n

– a college mathematics instructor.<\/p>\n

I believe that I have the gift of simplification<\/strong>, and I strive to implement this whenever I\u2019m explaining anything to someone. To be able to do that I have to first have a clear understanding of the subject matter myself. Once I understand it I can break it down to others<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That reminds me of an experience I had while doing my undergrad in EET at DeVry. One of the last sections we had to cover in an electronics course was called \u201cFuzzy Logic<\/em>.\u201d Our professor was usually very good at explaining his subject, but it became clear to us real quick that he wasn\u2019t very comfortable with this section.<\/p>\n

After the class session, other students were looking to me for clarification (that\u2019s the reputation I have built). So, I spent the next few hours researching this concept on the internet, and I was able to find a number of sites that did a great job of explaining it. Armed with a clear understanding of the concept I could teach it to my fellow classmates in an easy to understand manner.<\/p>\n

These skills of research and simplification, and others, I bring to the writing of my blog posts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

How I Got Into Internet Marketing<\/h2>\n

Long before I came to the U.S. I\u2019d been interested in having my own business and being my own boss<\/strong>. My mom used to buy the National Enquirer on a regular basis and I was particularly drawn to the section on business opportunities.<\/p>\n

Back then, the world was not as interconnected via the world wide web as it is today, so there wasn\u2019t much I could do to follow up on any of the biz opps that interested me. Later, when I came to the U.S. I subscribed to some business-based magazines like Small Business Opportunities, Home Business<\/a> Connection, and others.<\/p>\n

I tried, and failed at, a variety of the biz opps presented in the magazines. I had a lot to learn about what was legit and what was not, as well as what would be a good fit for ME. That education did not come cheap!<\/strong><\/p>\n

However, since my primary (legal) reason for being in the U.S. was to study and get my degrees, I really could not put too much focus and efforts on having a home business<\/a>. So, for a while, that idea got pushed into the recesses of my mind.<\/p>\n

After moving out here to South Jersey in 2008, I had more free time on my hands and that old desire to be my own boss came creeping back in<\/strong>. As a result, I started looking into various types of home based business opportunities.<\/p>\n

However, it was only recently that I FINALLY made the decision to stop gathering information and to start taking action<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What prompted that you ask?<\/p>\n

The girl of my dreams (with whom I have been in love for over 15 years) dumped me!<\/strong> That event shook the earth under my feet and forced me to take a long, hard look at myself. I saw that I had been putting off my needs and desires for too long. It was time to go after them, and that\u2019s what I\u2019m doing right now.<\/p>\n

My Main IM Affiliations<\/h2>\n

The reality is that we don\u2019t fully know if something will work for us unless we\u2019ve given it an honest try<\/strong>. With that in mind, I began signing up for a few different opportunities, some with a low start-up cost, but others requiring over a thousand dollars to get started.<\/p>\n

A few of them I quickly knew weren\u2019t going to work FOR ME, but were good opportunities in themselves. I\u2019ve narrowed my list of affiliate programs down to two that I am currently focused on:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I do not see either program as better than the other. They both have their \u201cpros and cons\u201d as far as start-up costs, required time investment, and community culture are concerned<\/strong>. I encourage you to check them out and decide which one feels like a fit for you.<\/p>\n
