Charlotte was 41.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.people.com\/people\/article\/0,,20713827,00.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.people.com\/people\/article\/0,,20713827,00.html\"><i>People<\/i><\/a>\u00a0mag, the James Bond star says:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He goes on to say, \u201cCharlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added thanks for the \u201cheartfelt condolences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Charlotte was Brosnan\u2019s daughter from his marriage to Cassandra Harris, a former Bond girl he married in 1980. He adopted Charlotte and her brother, Christopher, after their father died in 1986. Cassandra died in 1991, also succumbing to ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Brosnan has two children with his second wife, Keely Shaye Smith: Dylan, 16, and Paris, 12.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Davi, who starred in the Bond film\u00a0<i>Licence to Kill<\/i>, posted on Twitter: \u201cJust been informed \u2013 my friend Pierce Brosnan has lost his daughter to an illness \u2013 my prayers and love go out to him and his family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephanie Zimbalist, who played opposite Pierce in\u00a0<i>Remington Steele<\/i>, posted on Facebook: \u201cSad co-star news to announce.
