One of the most important skills that you will ever learn \u2013 and maybe it\u2019s less a skill than it is a discipline \u2013 is to persevere.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

No one who has achieved anything of merit had it handed to them on a platter.\u00a0 They worked for it.\u00a0 They earned it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

When you see a leader \u2013 particularly a captain of industry \u2013 who seems to have the world by the tail and makes it look effortless, know that behind that seemingly easy story of phenomenal success, is the real story of the blood, sweat and tears that it took to reach that pinnacle.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every one who has achieved something great has had to overcome obstacles, has had to face challenges.\u00a0 Some face greater challenges than others \u2013 but bottom line is that they faced challenges and determined to overcome them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every one who has achieved something great has had to overcome fear and doubt.\u00a0 They\u2019ve spent countless hours in conversation with themselves, wondering if they were doing it right, wondering if they had what it took, wondering when their big breakthrough was going to come\u2026<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2026and then realizing that the big breakthrough was less important than the journey to the big breakthrough.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

When that shift happened \u2013 when that shift HAPPENS \u2013 a decision is made.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The decision is this:\u00a0 I will DO THIS.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The how might not be known, but that it will<\/strong> be done becomes a certainty.\u00a0 And the understanding that one is willing to do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes, and that the journey IS the point\u2026that<\/span> understanding is what fires the motivation, fuels the desire, and pushes one to reach that pinnacle.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere there\u2019s a will, there\u2019s a way; where there\u2019s not, there\u2019s an alibi.\u201d<\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every meaningful opportunity in life will stay behind closed doors\u00a0 \u2013 doors that will never open \u2013 unless you knock on them.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

As Michael Josephson points out, if you can\u2019t muster the confidence and courage to knock on more closed doors despite the certainty of frustrating and unpleasant experiences, you\u2019ll never make it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not to say that behind every closed door is an unpleasant experience.\u00a0 But you\u2019ve got to be willing to risk it.\u00a0 And for most \u2013 until you exercise that muscle \u2013 just the act of knocking on a closed door can be uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Remember:\u00a0 Your comfort zone is your dead zone.\u00a0 If you want to grow, you MUST constantly push the boundaries of your comfort zone.\u00a0 Determine that you will.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve got to be willing to make the journey and enjoy it.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not what happens TO you\u2026it\u2019s what happens FOR you.\u00a0 Use every experience as a stepping stone in your personal growth, and you\u2019ll reach the summit \u2013 where the air is clearer and view is magnificent.<\/p>\n
