Pete Doherty has been asked to leave a rehab centre \u2013 because of his lack of commitment to giving up drugs.<\/p>\n
The troubled British rocker was asked to cut short his one-month stay at The Cabin, a high-end drug rehabilitation centre in Thailand.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the end of the day \u2013 and this is actually quite common in the rehab institution \u2013 he basically worked out that he wasn\u2019t ready for recovery,\u201d explained marketing director Ben Moller.<\/p>\n
He said Doherty, 33, had made progress during his three weeks at the \u00a37,600-a-month recovery resort and his departure was amicable.<\/p>\n
The exit from the centre had been the result of a \u201cmutual decision\u201d, he insisted.<\/p>\n
But he also said Doherty had been asked to leave because his lack of commitment might jeopardise the treatment of other patients.<\/p>\n
Doherty, who fronted The Libertines and Babyshambles, has struggled for years with drug abuse, especially heroin.<\/p>\n
He has visited Thailand before, taking a beach holiday in Phuket during the 2006-2007 New Year period with his then-girlfriend, supermodel Kate Moss.<\/p>\n

He was also a friend of Amy Winehouse, who died last year of accidental alcohol poisoning.<\/p>\n
Moller was asked if Doherty had been asked to leave because he had resumed taking drugs.<\/p>\n
He replied: \u201cHe hadn\u2019t started using it, but that\u2019s what he wanted to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moller said it was the nature of drug addiction recovery that one person\u2019s lack of commitment could affect others.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo have even one person here out of 20 people or so that\u2019s not even motivated to be recovered or to achieve recovery, it\u2019s really disruptive for the other ones,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s not because of Pete doing anything intentionally disruptive.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Cabin is located outside the city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.<\/p>\n
It has 27 teak cabins on a riverside site, and offers a modern, holistic programme with counselling and physical fitness.<\/p>\n
