We thought this would be a great way to share our time in California via our San Diego Diary<\/strong><\/p>\n We departed London Heathrow early evening and flew 11 hours via British Airways to arrive in San Diego late afternoon (San Diego is 8 hours behind UK GMT) First impressions were how wonderfully warm it was compared to London.\u00a0 We checked into the Mariott Hotel where we were given an awesome room on the 16th Floor with a balcony overlooking the marina \u2013 WOW.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s the view<\/p>\n We woke up early as our bodies thought we were on a different time zone \u2026. after a lazy breakfast we took a long walk along the the marina (about 3 miles) in the beautiful California sunshine to discover some of the delights of bay front San Diego.\u00a0 We discovered the Maratime Museum which consists of old rigged sailing ships, submarines and a modern day retired aircraft carrier \u2026.. this is definitely the way to discover history \u2013 an eclectic mix of old and new.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s one of our favourite photos from our San Diego Diary<\/em><\/p>\n See our Animoto Video<\/p>\n We took a tour of the San Diego Gas Lamp District and some photos of the key places of interest \u2026..<\/p>\n See our Animoto Video<\/p>\n \u2026. as well as a bit of relaxation\u00a0 beside the pool in the gardens of the hotel.\u00a0 Beautiful place to grab a WiFi connection and catch up with friends on Facebook and \u2018our daily marketing<\/em>\u2018<\/p>\n We had a lovely lunch in a bay side restaraunt enjoying the sunshine and watching the yachts sailing by and afterwards a spot of sightseeing and just checking out all those super yachts \u2026.. one day (Susan\u2019s got this thing about sailing since she did it in Costa Rica<\/a><\/em>)<\/p>\n Here\u2019s one of our favourite\u2019s<\/p>\n Thursday was a fun day \u2013 we packed so much into the day including a trip across the bay to Coronado Island to check out the fabulous beach and the beautiful old colonial Coronado Beach Hotel \u2026. we also got treated to a vintage car rally which was awesome to watch \u2026. all those really special old cars<\/p>\nSan Diego Diary Monday 17th September 2012<\/h2>\n
