{"id":125,"date":"2012-11-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2012-11-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/cherieking\/?p=125"},"modified":"2026-07-31T23:31:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T23:31:30","slug":"ginger-oh-snap-tea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empowernetwork.com\/cherieking\/ginger-oh-snap-tea\/","title":{"rendered":"Ginger \u201cOh SNAP\u201d Tea"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you like to drink tea?<\/p>\n<p>I do!<\/p>\n<p>Though there was a time\u2026 fairy recently in fact\u2026<\/p>\n<p>that I didn\u2019t consider myself much of a tea drinker. *<em>shoulder shrug<\/em>*<\/p>\n<p>But now I drink at LEAST 2 cups a day!<\/p>\n<p>And recipes like this one make it such a delicious, yet healthy TREAT!<\/p>\n<p>So if you\u2019re looking for delicious, as well as nutritious, healthy tea recipes, try this one on for size\u2026<\/p>\n<h3><span>Ginger \u201cOh SNAP\u201d Tea<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>1 organic green tea bag<\/p>\n<p>1 organic ginger tea bag<\/p>\n<p>1 tsp. blackstrap molasses<\/p>\n<p>dash of cinnamon<\/p>\n<p>(natural) sweetener of choice \u2013 I personally use evaporated cane juice but you can use honey, stevia, agave, etc.<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 tsp. coconut oil (optional, but adds a delicious, almost kinda \u201cbuttery\u201d flavor)<\/p>\n<p>water<\/p>\n<p>Okay, so first you heat up your water until just under, but not quite boiling. Pour into cup or mug. Steep your tea bags for at least 5 minutes (the longer the better, though) to bring out the flavor and beneficial qualities of the herbs. Add the other ingredients, stir well and enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>This tea is kinda spicy but it\u2019s SO good and it\u2019s like drinking a\u2026 ginger snap! Now this is totally optional, but I happen to sometimes like my tea with cream. So, I found a coconut milk creamer at my local Fred Meyer store and it\u2019s AWESOME!<\/p>\n<h2>Here are the benefits of some of the ingredients I named in this tea recipe:<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Green tea<\/strong> \u2013 antioxidants, weight loss, lowers bad cholesterol<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ginger tea<\/strong> \u2013 improve blood circulation, helps with nausea, antiviral, may help reduce inflammation, pain and stiffness associated with arthritis<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blackstrap molasses<\/strong> \u2013 blood builder and restorer (great if you\u2019re anemic); rich in B vitamins, potassium, iron, calcium and magnesium; may restore natural hair color<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coconut oil<\/strong> \u2013 diabetic friendly \u2013 may help lower blood sugar levels, weight loss, improves absorption of calcium and magnesium and therefore aids in bone and dental health<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cinnamon<\/strong> \u2013 anti-inflammatory, lowers blood sugar levels, anti-fungal<\/p>\n<h2>When you try it, come back &amp; leave a comment below to let me know what you think!<\/h2>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Do you like to drink tea?
