He did a lot of research and Amazon seems to stomp on the competition. Joanne Fabric was almost an option, but thankfully, he found a better route than using my sewing abilities, which aren’t so great. I could have done it. Straight seams, no zippers. Still grateful he found a better deal. He set up the white umbrellalights. And now he is going to do his Video marketing.

I’ve been learning a lot about what emotions need to be behind the video. I wanted to share a few thoughts that crossed my mind from Mia Davies’ training.

I have heard this one over and over in all my training: Be CLEAR on your view. Know and understand what your purpose and passion is. If you are passionate about what you do, you will always TAKE ACTION. You, (yes, I am talking to you) have something important to you that has been sitting inside your head a long time that needs to shared! Maybe many have touched on the topics that are swirling around in your mind, but YOU have the unique ability to share it in only YOUR way.

Be CRYSTAL CLEAR! Take the positive attitude that you need to get this out to the world. Feel the urgency, share your inspirations and let them show on camera. Make it fun, make it an adventure.

Are you fearful of what the video is going to reflect? What is your relationship with your fears? Do they stop you? Do you face them? I have a horrible fear of water. My mom believes it is because I fell in a bathtub of water head first when I was two. She may be right, because I certainly cannot pinpoint a time that made me internalize this fear. While in college, I had a friend that helped me work on this fear. We went early mornings to the pool and I would dive in the deep end and swim to the shallow. It took all I had. I began to really make progress. I felt more and more empowered and confident. Years have gone on though, and I have reverted back to the real fear of drowning. I’m not sure why I never rid myself of the fear, but it is still there, and I really don’t care to face it. I’m missing out, don’t you think? It has stopped me from a lot of activities.

Brad has the acronym for fear that he’s shared with me a lot: False Evidence Appearing Real, or False Education appearing Real. Here is a great video about facing fear:

Mia Davies teaches that anytime we step out of our comfort zone fear is a natural reaction. What matters is your relationship to your fear—your fears are very real to you, but the real winners are the ones who face it head-on.

Rollercoasters. I have a son who has fear of rollercoasters. His buddy convinced him to walk through the line and get in, but the minute they were checking seatbelts, he bolted out of the car and ran off the loading deck. Later in life he’s taken a few more chances and done a couple, facing his fear. It’s a life improvement for the fun he can have. The rush. Take on the rollercoaster rush, folks. I need to take action on this also, I know.

While doing the videos be REAL. Watch your language of your words, gestures and facial expressions. Be genuine. Be positive. Create empowering things, sound excited! Brad and I started videos a couple of weeks back. I downloaded a video program that comes with the operating system and looked at our first video. I am going to share the un-cut version of the first few minutes. I am facing my fear. I have gained A LOT of weight in the past 2 years and I feel I look awful, the camera is bouncing all over the place, I am out of shape, so out of breath, and nothing was planned for this part of the video. I was just learning Brad’s new handy-dandy camera on his phone, so you see a lot of land and necks and hands in the way. It’s nuts, but I am sharing it so MAYBE if you see all of my blooper things, your stuff maybe won’t be so bad.

Mia Davies is a very motivating person, and after I finished listening to her video, I was pretty excited to do these videos starring Brad, the EX-Pert. Enjoy, there are a lot more to come. I feel EXCITED!!

Brad just purchased an asset for the business: a green screen.
