FAILURE.<\/h2>\n

Henry Ford said, \u201cFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.\u201d<\/p>\n

What a great outlook! There are two experiences of failure that I would like to discuss, based on Mr. Ford\u2019s quote. First, failure coming from me, and second, failure coming from others.<\/p>\n

I used to do hair. I loved the creativity of it\u2014after I learned not to fail at it. But those first 30 or so colors and weaves that I did were more failures than successes. Anyone ever have a bad weave? My instructors would say \u201cdo not leave raisin\u201d, which meant that bleach was bleach and wherever you put it or did not put it would make all the difference in success or failure. I had a few \u201craisin\u201d jobs that I did. And the feeling of the pain of failure was a motivator to never allow another customer to leave the shop with raisins, or orange streaks (unless they wanted them, of course). Failure is a motivator. We can thank Thomas Edison for failing A LOT so we can have light bulbs. And I thank those patient people who allowed me to fail so that I could become a better person.<\/p>\n

There comes a time in everyone\u2019s life that you have to take courage, like a baby taking first steps; get up, boom! Thank you diapers! Get up, boom! Get up, take the step, lose the balance, regain and before you know it the baby is running. And then what do they do with that freedom? They run from you, away for more adventures, hoping never to be caught. FREEDOM! And they never look back.<\/p>\n

So, what do you need to take courage for? Your \u201cfailing\u201d marriage, your \u201cfailing\u201d savings account? Did the baby quit trying because the diaper got too thin and it hurt a bit? Nope. Take action now and correct your balance, correct your course. Look at the mistake, and use your future time to SUCCEED at your goals.<\/p>\n

This brings me to my second subject: experience of failure coming from others. Brad pointed out to me last night that there was something I needed to get over\u2026others failing. I hate to see people fail. In my last job I had a really difficult time not taking other\u2019s failures personally. I\u2019d work with them, coach them, show them the tools, and they would not take the action to succeed. People would dive in whole heartedly and be excited for their own success, but when they ran into a little speed bump, such as a bad grade, or they got the flu and got behind, they would just give up. Here is a true statement: I can\u2019t do this. You are right. You can\u2019t. But you can, too. It is time to put on your big girly\/boy pants, take a deep breath (suck it up as others might put it) and move FORWARD.<\/p>\n

Brad and I have had a lot of speed bumps. We\u2019ve had a lot of mountains to get over too, and in other blogs, I will share some of those experiences. Trials are always going to be in our life, but with the help of God, our knowledge of what we already failed at, and continuing to keep moving forward, success is ours to have.<\/p>\n

So, today I want to challenge you to make it a great day. Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again\u2026just use your brain and move forward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
