Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.” \u2014 Wayne Dyer<\/strong><\/p>\n

Change your thoughts, change your life.<\/p>\n

So simple. So profound. Yet for so many, it’s so difficult.<\/p>\n

Some of the people, who have the most profound impact on our lives, do things that to others may seem rather insignificant and yet to us, have deep, lasting meaning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Often these people are unaware of the influence they have and their actions come without any form of an agenda.\u00a0 It could be a kind word in passing or perhaps taking time to perform an act that holds meaning to us; these people transform the course of our lives forever.<\/p>\n

When Denzel Washington was a young boy he spent a great deal of his childhood at a local Boys Club in Mount Vernon, New York.\u00a0 He credits the belief that Billy Thomas instilled in him with helping him to make a decision that went against the grain of the direction many of his friends were going in.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Thomas used to tell the boys that they could go to college and do great things with their lives if they worked hard and stayed focused.\u00a0 This belief was the fuel that helped Washington go on to attend Fordham University and become one of the most highly acclaimed actors of all time.<\/p>\n

What if Mr. Washington was not exposed to Billy Thomas\u2019 words?<\/p>\n

What if this man had not taken time to instill into a young Denzel that he could live his dreams?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Would he have chosen a different path?\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mr. Washington cites that many of his childhood friends ended up in gangs and turned to a life of crime.\u00a0 He chose to take the belief that Billy Thomas instilled in him and make decisions that would inevitably lead to his success.<\/p>\n
