Justin Bieber proved Friday that he isn\u2019t among the tens of millions who have read The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank since it was first published in 1947.<\/p>\n

Frank, her parents, her sister and four other Jews hid from the Nazis from June 1942 until August 1944 in the attic of a home in Amsterdam. During that time, she wrote her diary which chronicles her life in hiding.<\/p>\n

If Bieber was aware of her inspiring story, he would not have set off a vicious social media cycle of condemnation for an arrogant comment he wrote in the guest book of the Anne Frank House Friday.<\/p>\n

The House is the building where Frank went into hiding. It\u2019s been a museum since 1960 and is visited by one million people every year.<\/p>\n

\u201cTruly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber,\u201d Bieber wrote.<\/p>\n

Fans of Bieber call themselves \u201cBeliebers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The museum posted the comment on its Facebook page and unleashed a wave of shock, fury and disbelief.<\/p>\n

One person wrote: \u201cShe would\u2019ve been a WHAT? That little idiot is way too full of himself. She\u2019s an important historical figure so show some respect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m shocked!\u201d read another post. \u201cIf Justin Bieber really did write that then that is just completely ignorant and disrespectful. You would have thought a trip to the Anne Frank Huis \u2013 a place with so much history and emotion would have taken his ego down a peg or two!\u201d<\/p>\n

Another visitor to the museum\u2019s Facebook page said: \u201cIn 2 years, he\u2019ll be a punchline; in 10 years a \u201cOh yeah\u2026I remember him\u201d In 20 years, he will be forgotten. In 200 years, people will still be admiring Anne Frank\u2019s courage and spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n
