9\/11\/01 is a Day that Changed the Lives of So Many and we will Never Forget!<\/h2>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Everyone remembers where they were and who they were with on 9\/11\u2026.one of the saddest and scariest days in the history of the United States. Terrorists had attacked us and killed so many people that we were forever changed.<\/p>\n

People are still suffering the after effects of that tragic day. The families of those killed as well as the survivors who suffer from the guilt of living when others died. PTSD is extremely\u00a0prevalent due to such events.<\/p>\n

I remember I was a home maker at that time. I was home watching \u201cThe Today Show\u201d when it came on tv and showed the first tower being taken out, live\u2026then the second tower. I sat there in disbelief as so many others. It then hit me that it was real. I immediately called my husband, Brian to make sure he was ok and then, went to the neighbors house to see if they would give me a ride to go pick up my kids from school, not knowing whether schools would be attacked next and I wasn\u2019t willing to take any chances.<\/p>\n

My neighbors were from Syria and I remember being a little apprehensive as I didn\u2019t know them very well. They spoke in Arabic and I was a little scared. I\u2019m not a prejudice person, but due to the events, I didn\u2019t know who to trust. I didn\u2019t have any other options, so I accepted their offer to pick up the kids graciously. We all cried so hard that day. I called every family member making sure they were ok and pondering when they would hit next.<\/p>\n

My biological father even offered to go back into the military to fight, but was declined due to his age. I thought it was admirable none the less. Every American became so much more patriotic after that day and seemed to last for awhile, then everyone got complacent again and seemed to take our freedoms for granted. It\u2019s funny how humans are. How soon we forget, except on the actual day or on July 4th. Other than that, people seem to just go about their daily lives as though everything is peachy keen.<\/p>\n

We are eternally grateful for our freedoms, for the heroes that stepped up on that horrific day. We are grateful for the military men and women who devote their lives to protecting ours. We will never forget what happened and will forever be changed. We will always be aware of our surroundings and the people in them. Will you?<\/p>\n
