Things happen for a reason<\/strong>\u2026I came across this quote today.\u00a0 It inspired me to write this post, why?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t be distracted by criticism.\u00a0 Remember the only taste of success some people have is when they take a bite out of you.\u201d ~Zig Ziglar<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Maybe to get it off my chest, vent a little, but also to share this with you to get your feedback and input.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the weekend I received an email<\/strong><\/span> from some one that has been following me for almost 2 years now.\u00a0 In fact, he purchased some social media coaching sessions with me last year.\u00a0 He wanted to reach more people about his online business.\u00a0 It was the perfect opportunity to introduce him to blogging and the platform I\u2019m using to get first page ranking on the search engines.<\/span><\/p>\n

He purchased the blogging system almost immediately!\u00a0 He loved it.<\/span><\/p>\n

What happened next seems to be typical with most people.<\/span><\/p>\n

He never blogged!\u00a0 Not one blog post<\/a>.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I connected with him and just offered a couple minutes of my time to see if I could answer any questions that might be keeping him stuck from getting started with the blog.\u00a0 He gave me all kinds of excuses.\u00a0 Too busy, the kids sports, the wife needing the \u2018honey do list\u2019 completed and nothing really that I haven\u2019t heard before.\u00a0 Maybe you can relate?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Fast forward, he did finally start blogging and in fact, he signed up for the affiliate program and promoted the blogging platform as well.\u00a0 He did make a few sales and then I didn\u2019t hear from him.\u00a0 Didn\u2019t see his blog posts, any engagement on the social sites\u2026it was like he just stopped his online business.<\/span><\/p>\n

So this weekend, I get an email for him.\u00a0 Not like any email that I have ever received.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The email\u00a0began with \u2018you are a fantastic mentor and a real pro!!!\u2019 (yes, he did you 3 exclamation points!)\u00a0 But then\u2026 the rest of the very long email was a \u2018bitch session\u2019.\u00a0 He complained about company owner\u2019s, leaders, members, the products, the comp plan\u2026everything under the sun. \u00a0He even threw in some comments that seemed to take a bite out of my success!<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued to making statements that were completely false, making accusations and statements from screwing customers to brainwashing.\u00a0 Insisting that the products and programs that I share and promote are all fake and just a \u2018way for me to keep making money while other\u2019s go broke\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

WOW!\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t believe it.<\/span><\/p>\n

In fact, I started to question myself<\/strong> just for a minute, that maybe I was not being forth coming and genuine in what I do, why my team does and what our whole community is all about.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well it didn\u2019t take me long to say \u2018hell, no\u2019<\/span>\u2026.I know who I am, my purpose, intention and my why.\u00a0 It\u2019s the reason I helped him in the first place.\u00a0 The more people I help, the more I feel like I can contribute towards individual success and to this industry.<\/span><\/p>\n

This was the worst \u2018criticism\u2019 I\u2019ve experienced in a long time, since my corporate robot days!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It makes you wonder about people\u2019s mindset<\/a> when they want so badly to change their lives they actually sabotage their own life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So I decided that because of the intense nature of his email and the outright misinformation that he was spewing, I replied back.\u00a0 Now I didn\u2019t go off the chain!\u00a0 LOL<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I did stand my ground.\u00a0 You see, I believe in who I am, I know I am working towards achieving my dreams and helping others to do the same.\u00a0 His perception while way off base, reminds me, that most people think this way. \u00a0And even though he has his slanted belief\u2019s,\u00a0I won\u2019t let him take a bite out of my success! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you think about this?\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Is it our responsibility to educate these folks,<\/strong> take the time to respond like I did (my response was just pointing out his incorrect knowledge and that he shouldn\u2019t contact me, unless he was ready and open to learning and hearing the real true information)?\u00a0 Or should I have just left him alone?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curious to get your input on this<\/strong>\u2026. Because I\u2019m sure as we all go along this entrepreneur journey, we will run into people like this.\u00a0 Look forward to hearing your comments and thoughts.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
