Thinking back\u2026<\/strong> I remember the day\u2026the moment\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

that changed not only my life but would be the catalyst<\/strong> that would give us the lifestyle with choices.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

PRESCOTT, ARIZONA 1998\u00a0\u2013 Corporate Robot Warning<\/span><\/p>\n

It was 5:45 in the evening<\/strong><\/span> as I picked up our son from day care nearby my corporate job, as a mortgage loan manager for the local bank\u2019s real estate lending department.\u00a0 It was a stressful day just like so many of them were.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The one thing that made me feel better, as I hated being away from him every day while I was at work, was when I picked up our son,<\/strong> he always had a big smile, gave me a hug and a huge screech of \u201cHI MOM\u201d!<\/em>\u00a0 He was 3 \u00bd years old and pretty smart little kid (course all parents say that about their kids, right?!)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pulling up to the stop light, I didn\u2019t have the radio on that evening, and out of the blue our son asked me:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMom, when will we see Dad in the sun\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\n

That\u2019s me, proud mom with our son!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

HUH?!\u00a0 It hit me right in the heart<\/strong><\/span>\u2026I didn\u2019t even notice the light turned green until the car behind honked their horn.\u00a0 As I started driving, in tears, I said, \u201cJason, I will talk to your dad, we will see him tomorrow for sure.\u201d\u00a0 He was all excited.<\/span><\/p>\n

This kid DID know what was going on.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> He could see how I worked days and my husband worked nights as a restaurant manager.\u00a0 We really didn\u2019t see him that much, because he didn\u2019t come home until 3:00a.m. and I got up at 6:00a.m. to get ready, get breakfast for our son and get out the door to do it all over again\u2026taking him to day care and getting to work on time.\u00a0 That job required me to be at work from 8:00 to 5:00 and because of the nature of my position, I usually didn\u2019t get out of there until 6pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Some evenings after picking up our son I would take him over to the restaurant to see his dad, and he was so excited to see him.\u00a0 But it certainly<\/strong> wasn\u2019t the way to live a \u2018family life\u2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Hard Lesson Was Learned<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

My husband and talked about it the next day<\/strong> and we decided that maybe being in Arizona when all our family was actually back in California really didn\u2019t make much sense.\u00a0 Plus, my husband was getting burned out as a night manager.\u00a0 I also just learned that the bank I was working for was considering to be bought by a larger bank from back East. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hint Hint\u2026.change your life!<\/span><\/p>\n

It was the first smack in the face I got.\u00a0 Our 3 \u00bd year old made such an impact on us and really got us thinking about how we were living life.\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

I remember many days gazing out my office window wondering\u2026. \u201cIs this what life is all about?\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Were we suppose to live like this every day?<\/strong> <\/span>\u00a0Doing the same thing, getting up at the same time, rushing to daycare, drop off our son, get to work, get stressed out from the job and then racing back to daycare to get home, make dinner and maybe, have a few hours family time to only have to get up the next day and do it all over again.<\/strong> \u00a0Living for the weekends in hopes to have more family time, that\u00a0my husband could spend a couple hours with us!<\/span><\/p>\n

It was then we decided it was time for a change\u2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

We talked to a realtor in the next few weeks to list our home.<\/strong>\u00a0 We planned a 4 day trip that I had to clear with my boss and of course my husband had to get someone to fill in for him while we took off for California.\u00a0 We took some time to look for either a home to purchase or a lot to build a home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While driving around the area we were going to move to, it was the same area we had been living (Paso Robles, CA) for many years before I was hired with the Bank in Arizona.\u00a0 We loved to be so close to the ocean, the schools were nearby and we talked about how our son will probably be playing soccer or baseball real soon.\u00a0 There was joy in our plans and we just knew this was going to be the right move<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

PASO ROBLES, California 2000 \u00a0\u2013 The Big Move<\/span><\/p>\n

It was hard for me to give my notice<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0to leave a 6 year job with the bank in Arizona. \u00a0To leave what I thought was a \u2018secure\u2019 paycheck. \u00a0But I knew that being that corporate robot wasn\u2019t for me.\u00a0 And if we wanted to change our life, we really needed to make a change.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a couple of weeks I got my California Real Estate license which is required even for loan officers as I was going to \u2018hang my license\u2019 with a broker.\u00a0 I would be able to do transactions under the broker and get paid commissions.\u00a0 It was the first time in my life that I didn\u2019t have a \u2018pay check\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

Well\u2026I had a paycheck except\u00a0I had to close transactions before I got paid<\/strong> and to know how much I would get paid.\u00a0 The broker got a cut of each transaction I closed too.\u00a0 Plus the first broker I worked for required I be in a cubicle in the office space he leased.\u00a0 Even after telling him that I really wanted to work from home<\/a>.\u00a0 He wouldn\u2019t have anything to do with that.<\/span><\/p>\n

After about 1 year of working this way<\/strong>, once again I thought, I\u2019m doing almost exactly what I was doing in Arizona.\u00a0 Our son was now in school and there was an after school program called \u2018LatchKey\u2019.\u00a0 Yup, our son was now a latchkey kid, and I didn\u2019t like it one bit.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fortunately, one of the other loan agents decided to get his broker\u2019s license and asked if I wanted to work with him instead.\u00a0 We cut a deal<\/strong><\/span> that I could work from home, YEA!\u00a0 Part of the deal was that I would come into the office during hours our son was in school.\u00a0 Finally!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was now a work from home mom, BUT\u2026.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Still it was a\u00a0job,<\/strong><\/span> which meant I didn\u2019t have the freedom lifestyle I would soon learn was a choice I could make. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

So this turned out to be\u00a0the\u00a0defining moment.<\/span> \u00a0It was at this point where I was introduced to online marketing.\u00a0 There is a lot more to this story<\/span>, but I can tell you I didn\u2019t blink, but instead wanted to know as much as I could about this online marketing thing.\u00a0 I just felt there was a better way to have the life I wanted to live, instead of always doing what someone else said I had to do to make a living, I didn\u2019t want a job! \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

FAST FORWARD\u2026.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

September 2012 it was a warm evening and a cool breeze coming in from the open windows of our home.\u00a0 We had just finished dinner and after cleaning up I told my husband I wanted to do some things on the computer. \u00a0So I opened my computer\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

AND THERE IT WAS\u2026. the link!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t remember who shared this link with me and most of the time I would just ignore clicking on anything if I didn\u2019t know who the person was.\u00a0 But something told me to click it.\u00a0<\/strong> The next 45 minutes would change my life!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
