Are you a \u2018clock watcher\u2019 at work?<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Have you called into work with the \u2018fake\u2019 sick excuse?<\/em>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Are you tired of the grind or creating someone else\u2019s dream?<\/strong>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Or maybe you don\u2019t want to be a corporate robot anymore like I once was?<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Well Guess What?<\/span><\/p>\n

Sounds like it is time to quit your 9 to 5 job!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

BUT WAIT!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Not so fast\u2026<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

It would be awesome to call your boss or walk into their office to announce proudly, \u201cI quit\u201d<\/strong> except<\/em> you better make sure you have all your ducks in a row<\/span> before you do.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s The Real Reason To Quit<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

You can\u2019t just quit and you probably know that.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 So understanding what the real reason \u00a0 Take some time to reflect on all the things that have been gnawing at you to leave your job.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Are you frustrated with things that you might be able to rectify?\u00a0 For example, ask your boss for that raise, or taking an extra week vacation could be ways that might get you back on track.\u00a0 Was there a promotion you didn\u2019t get that you might just need to take on a couple of projects to catch your boss\u2019s eye?<\/span><\/p>\n

OR MAYBE\u2026<\/strong> you are ready to call it quits with your job because you are ready for a change!<\/span><\/p>\n

Factor in everything<\/strong> that you think might be reasons to leave your 9 to5.\u00a0 Weigh your reasons carefully and then next step is to know if you can financially quit or make a change.<\/span><\/p>\n

Can You Afford To Quit<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Today, most families live on a two person salary.<\/strong>\u00a0 That means both mom and dad or both spouses are working, and usually working to make ends meet. It also means parents with kids are having to drop off kids to daycare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take your monthly expenses, everything,<\/strong><\/span> from the gas you pay for when commuting to work, the daycare costs, lunches, parking costs and anything else that you pay for now to \u2018go to work\u2019, these are your work related costs.\u00a0 Next, add all your monthly bills such as mortgage, rent, utilities, maintenance and any other costs your household pays.<\/span><\/p>\n

These numbers can now be analyzed.\u00a0 If you were to subtract your work related costs and salary, would the remaining salary be enough to live on until you started earning an income from another source?<\/span><\/p>\n

Things to consider, especially if you are REALLY ready to quit your 9 to 5 job is to \u2018cut back\u2019.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Do you really need the extra channels on your cable subscription, can you get by for a while with one car, especially should you decide to work from home<\/a> (we will get to that later!) \u00a0You can make\u00a0small changes to cut back\u00a0like,<\/strong>\u00a0start making coffee at home instead of visiting your local coffee shop on a daily basis.\u00a0 These are all things that add up and can help you to get out of that grind, so you can pursue your passion.<\/span><\/p>\n

What Would You Do If You Quit Your 9 to 5 Job?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

DECISION TIME!<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Looking back\u00a0during my \u2018corporate robot\u2019 days, I remember looking out my office window wondering if this is what life was all about.\u00a0 Was I suppose to live life like this until I retire?\u00a0 And was I going to have a retirement fund big enough when that day comes?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

These are all things that many people think about but really never take seriously enough so they can make a decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

You see\u2026.it isn\u2019t about your job, it isn\u2019t about the money\u2026it\u2019s about the quality of life.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 How do you want to live your life?\u00a0 And are you ready to make a change to have more freedom, more time and to be able to do what you want, instead of fulfilling someone else\u2019s dream, or filling up someone else\u2019s bank account?<\/span><\/p>\n

There are many options for you to consider, but first let\u2019s start with what are you\u2019re passionate about.<\/span><\/p>\n
