I get asked this question all the time. To put it plain and simple, Life On The Bering Sea<\/strong> flat out sucks most of the time, don\u2019t get me wrong I\u00a0love commercial fishing. But it is a very big love hate relationship, with Life On The Bering Sea and myself.<\/p>\n She is mean as it comes, and it\u2019s funny because you get all sorts of\u00a0BadAss\u00a0mo-fos out there who for some reason think because they used to be a bull rider, they are expert commercial fisherman.<\/p>\n It\u2019s ridiculous, I would never walk up to a bull, and think that just because I\u00a0spent\u00a0my Life On the Bering Sea for 8 years, I could ride a bull. Life on the Bering Sea is cold, wet , tired, and hungry. It\u2019s funny because people think that you can\u2019t possibly stay up for days working as hard as humanly possible. The truth is, hell yes you can,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0done it numerous times. You see the thing is, it takes a certain degree of toughness to even attempt a job like crabbing, or long lining in the dead of winter. Life on The Bering Sea<\/em> is as hard of life as you\u2019ll find anywhere.<\/p>\n The endless grey of fall,\u00a0The\u00a0black of winter, but there is nothing like it in\u00a0the\u00a0world. And as\u00a0hard\u00a0as Life On the Bering Sea was, \u00a0I am grateful for every minute of it. It made me tough, it made me humble, There is no force on the planet as powerful as the Ocean. And the Bering Sea is one of the toughest.<\/p>\n It\u2019s the most vicious thing that I have ever experienced. And it is shear pain, there are no words that i could ever think of that\u00a0would\u00a0describe how brutal life on The Bering Sea is in winter. It sucks.<\/p>\n Everything hurts, the pain is everywhere, from you head to your toes, bones break, and ligaments snap, and you still fight on, \u00a0and\u00a0this is not a exaggeration.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t know what\u2019s a harder Life On the Bering sea? The life of a Long Liner, or the life of a Crabber. They are equally as dangerous, but I would say that Long Lining is much more intense. There is something about landing and killing a giant Halibut that ways anywhere from 30 to 600 pounds. When a 200 pound fish comes out of the water, shes mean and pissed off, and stronger then you can imagine.\u00a0blood\u00a0everywhere, it\u2019s just crazy.<\/p>\n I love fishing, and am glad that it was a part of my life. But there comes a time for change in a mans life.\u00a0And\u00a0that change happened for me last year. I finally said I\u2019m done fishing, and if I put that much energy into pretty much anything, it\u2019s impossible to fail.<\/p>\nFor Nearly 8 Years I spent Life On the Bering Sea.<\/h3>\n
