I just had to do a \u2018Kick Ass\u2019 movie review<\/strong>; seriously, this is the best comic book movie\u2026 PERIOD<\/strong>! I might have some comic geeks try and bust my balls on that one, but before you do, I just want you to understand something:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a comic book geek too<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I have over 4,000 comic books. I still collect them when I have time, and I know more about origin stories and hero background than 99.5% of people on the planet. I do have to be honest though\u2026<\/p>\n

\u2026I know that \u2018Kick Ass\u2019<\/em> was a graphic novel by Mark Millar<\/strong> before it was a movie.\u00a0 This is a rare case where I saw the movie, and have not read the comic book.\u00a0 Therefore, I apologize if there is a fellow comic nerd out there who read the graphic novel first, and is pissed about the technicalities.<\/p>\n

However, I am confident that it is at least a fairly good adaptation due to the fact that Mark Millar also worked on the movie version of \u2018Kick Ass.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Seriously, just watch the trailer; It speaks for itself(but does give away a lot of the movie, so if you want to be surprised, you might want to skip it).<\/p>\n

\u2018Kick Ass\u2019 HD Movie Trailer:<\/h2>\n

Before I get into Kick Ass<\/span>, let\u2019s talk for a minute about the comic book movies that were actually really good(these are in no order of ranking):<\/p>\n

  1. Captain America<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Iron Man 1<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Wolverine(I know I\u2019ll have some haters on this one, but I\u2019m sticking to it; I know it had some problems, but it was good)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Batman Begins<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Sin City<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. 300<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    There are probably some others that should make that list, but I would have to think about it.\u00a0 Most of the other comic epics were entertaining, but lacked a lot of elements that would satisfy a nerd like myself.<\/p>\n

    For Instance Spider-man 3:<\/h3>\n

    I was really excited about this movie because it had some of my favorite villains.\u00a0 I thought it was going to be packed full of awesome fight scenes, and Venom<\/strong> footage.\u00a0 Instead, they turned the whole thing into a crappy love story, barely had any footage of Venom, and killed him off at the end.<\/p>\n

    To make things worse, the end fight scene was a joke.\u00a0 Spider-man<\/strong> isn\u2019t invulnerable.\u00a0 If Sandman<\/strong> beat the crap out him with 5o tons of sand and concrete for five minutes, yes, he might<\/em> survive\u2026<\/p>\n

    \u2026but he would have been stuck in the hospital for 3-6 weeks if he managed to escape.\u00a0 <\/p>\n

    What a load of crap.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Anyways, sorry for the tangent, we were talking about \u2018Kick Ass.\u2019\u00a0<\/strong> This movie feeds every comic nerds dream<\/strong> that we can go out there, buy some tights, and become a crime fighting bad ass.\u00a0 I\u2019m not even going to get into the details of the movie, I\u2019m just going to tell you that if you like comic movies, and you okay with extensive graphic violence and swearing<\/strong>, you should watch it.<\/p>\n

    No, \u2018Kick Ass\u2019 doesn\u2019t have the best special effects of all the comic movies, and depending on what you are looking for, there is a strong argument that some of the other films are better(hell, in the right mood, I\u2019d rather watch Captain America or Iron Man).<\/p>\n

    This is simply a movie that could almost actually happen, its well written, has great filming, epic fight scenes, and it makes you want to go out there, buy a pair of tights, and kick some ass.<\/p>\n

    \u2018Big Daddy,\u2019 \u2018Kick Ass,\u2019 and \u2018Red Mist\u2019<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<\/div>\n

    It has tons of really bloody scenes, and it is definitely more of an \u2018Adult\u2019 comic book movie<\/strong>, but it is seriously fucking awesome.\u00a0 I actually haven\u2019t watched it in several months, I\u2019m getting excited just writing about it, and I think I\u2019m going to have to see it again tonight.<\/p>\n

    Bottom Line: \u2018Kick Ass\u2019 is an epic movie<\/strong><\/h3>\n
