Like if we ask them to do something, like do a house chore, they will say, “yes, I have done it, ” when in truth, he hasn’t done it yet.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, people don’t tell the truth because they don’t want to disappoint parents. or people sometimes justify turning to lies because they are afraid that being truthful might hurt the other person.<\/p>\n

What is Truth?<\/h2>\n

Truth is what corresponds to the way things actually are.<\/h2>\n

It isn’t what I feel like it is, it isn’t what I want it to be.\u00a0 Truth is what corresponds to reality.<\/p>\n

What is Falsehood?<\/h2>\n

Falsehood is a misrepresentation of the truth.<\/h2>\n

So we either tell the truth, or we don’t tell the truth.<\/p>\n

Some people might say, I “sort of tell the truth” they sift it here and there, and sand it here and there, it may end up looking like the truth, feel like the truth or seem like the truth, but it’s NOT the truth.<\/p>\n

And if it is NOT the truth, then you suffer the consequence of telling a falsehood.<\/p>\n

Let’s do a little self examination….<\/p>\n

… between us and God. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

So consider these questions …<\/p>\n

1. Do you or would you consider yourself a truthful person?<\/p>\n

Some might say… “sometimes”… or “most of the times” … or “truthful when it’s convenient”, or they may be truthful “if it profits them.”<\/p>\n

… but truthfulness is actually a character quality.<\/p>\n

… it goes with the reality of what’s on the inside of you.<\/p>\n

… it’s your spine.<\/p>\n

2. Do you have a tendency to tell the truth with its edge off, so it seems like it’s “sort of the truth” or “kind of the truth” and close to the absolute truth but not always “the truth”…<\/p>\n

… so what we do is to rationalize it like “I did tell the truth “sort of” ..<\/p>\n

… remember our description of the truth? Truth is what corresponds to the way things actually are.<\/p>\n

3. Do you sometimes feel threatened by the truth? Do you feel threatened by telling the truth?<\/p>\n

In immediate conscious or subconscious self defense, you don’t exactly tell the truth or you just might lie about it. Truth is very important because it goes to the inside…<\/p>\n

… it might be verbal from your perspective… but that nature, that spirit and that attitude from which it flows is something at the the heart. the foundation and the root of your life, that’s why it is important.<\/p>\n

4. Do you feel like it’s okay to lie as long as you’re not hurting someone else?<\/p>\n

Not according to the bible. The bible is the book of truth. It says speak truth to one another. Jesus said I am the way, the TRUTH and the life. There is not anything no problem in this world that Jesus doesn’t have the answer for in the bible, because this book is about the truth.<\/p>\n

We best represent Him when we are speaking the truth.<\/p>\n

5. How do you feel when you don’t tell the truth?<\/p>\n

Do you feel like you got by with something? That you got away with something? Maybe you don’t feel so good, or you may have regret it .. maybe you shamed yourself. Maybe you can’t figure out why you didn’t tell them the truth.<\/p>\n
