I think most people today would argue that there is lack of authenticity<\/strong> in society. And that itself is a problem. But what exactly is authenticity<\/em>? \u00a0Well, it depends on the context you are coming from.<\/p>\n For example, as someone with a background in teaching language, authenticity<\/span>, at its most basic, is language that is used in the real world, not the stiff language that is often found in textbooks. I actually wrote an academic paper about this whole topic but we won\u2019t go there\u2026or you may nod off.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s focus on the real world for now.<\/p>\n You only have to look around you at all the advertising to see a complete lack of authenticity<\/strong>. Flick through any fashion magazine and I almost guarantee that the models that you see do not really look like that. The images have probably been photo-shopped to death.<\/p>\n Which one is real?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All day long, people are subjected to such forms of inauthenticity. Are the hamburgers sold really beef? Is the cream you see on desserts really cream? I think we know the answers here. Yet we still buy and eat them without a second thought.<\/p>\n But people are not stupid (well most of us anyway ). We know when we look at something that it is not real. And that can have serious consequences in business.<\/p>\n If you are reading this blog post<\/a>, you will be aware that it is on an Empoweer Network hosted blogging platform. And if you are not yet a member of Empower Network<\/a>, then let me tell you about the \u2018authenticity\u2019 of this whole thing.<\/p>\n There are so many cliches in business. For example, we have all heard the expression \u2018To good to be true\u2019. What does this mean to you? Do you say this because you have been burned and you are too scared to believe that there could actually be an element of truth to it.\u00a0Or the other one \u2018If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is\u2019.<\/p>\n Now a degree of skepticism is ok but do not let that blind you from making a good decision. Look around you. Are the people that are telling you \u2018NO\u2019 actually making any money themselves? Or maybe it is you. The voices inside that say no. Where do they stem from? A lot of the unconscious decisions that we make often stem from our parents. did you parents ever say things like this? Were there money issues when you were young? Read a book called \u2018Secrets of the millionaire mind\u2019 by T. Harv. Eker. you will soon understand.<\/p>\n If you have ever been on one of the live calls or listened to the replays, you know that what the leaders say is as \u2018authentic\u2019 as it gets. You do not hear this stuff elsewhere. The tales of hardship that people have faced, and the brute honesty about how they have turned things around is authenticity personified.<\/p>\n I heard Tony Rush say that the Empower Network<\/a> is basically a Leadership<\/a> factory. And you become a leader by being authentic. And being surrounded by such people in Empower Network means that if you listen and apply yourself correctly, you will become one too.<\/p>\n Authenticity<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Be true to who you are. None of this \u2018fake it till you make it\u2019 rubbish. People will see through you if you try. And then your reputation will be in tatters. If people do not like the authentic<\/strong> \u2018you\u2019, then forget them. They probably weren\u2019t worth it in the first place.<\/p>\n And be consistent. Be true to your word, do not copy and be real in your dealings with others. Be real in your communications.
