Let me tell you a little about myself, my story and why I am so committed to making a home based business<\/em> work for me. I grew up down here in Florida. I came from a basically decent family, dysfunctional but decent. My parents were divorced when I was 10 years old. I grew up in the 70s and was an underachieving, unmotivated kid with a lack of self-esteem. I was comfortable in my situation and wasn\u2019t looking to change. The economic crisis hit in 2008 and the company I had worked at for eight years fell apart and eventually closed. I worked a few other jobs short time and was unemployed for a while. While I was unemployed, the idea of starting my own home based business<\/strong> crossed my mind, but I was still living a dysfunctional unproductive life. I was still controlled by my vices. My marriage was strained and my son was now a teenager and going through his own issues. I wrote a blog for the last six months at work as we focused on trying to acquire business through inbound and content marketing. \nI struggled with addiction most of my life. But by age 21 I was employable and eventually made my way through college. There was an expectation that I would become a lawyer and follow in my father\u2019s footsteps. It was a wonderful opportunity but it was not meant to be. My life was too much of a struggle, my refusal to give up the habits that were holding me back continued for many years.
\nI met a wonderful woman and we eventually got married and had a beautiful son. I have worked at different jobs for over thirty years. I don\u2019t think I was a bad employee, but I certainly wasn\u2019t driven or exceptional. I didn\u2019t fulfill my potential. I couldn\u2019t because most of my life was centered around my bad habits and addictions. Usually I functioned, but I just didn\u2019t excel.<\/p>\nThe first thought of a home based business<\/h2>\n
\nI would spend days at home while I was unemployed, applying for jobs, under a lot of stress and I could finally begin to see the writing on the wall. I was a poor example as a father and chances were that my marriage wasn\u2019t going to last with me living the way I was. I didn\u2019t want to grow old alone, but that was where I was headed.
\nSo I made a decision to change my thinking, beliefs and behavior and I changed the way I was living. I gave up the negative behaviors that had held me down all my life. I stopped falling back on my past as a reason for not being successful. I adopted a new attitude and worked hard at saving the thing that had the most value to me, my marriage. I decided to change and I did change.
\nEventually I found a pretty decent job and for the first time in my life I gave a damn about my work. I thrived in that job. I became a leader and devoted myself to educating myself about the many facets of the industry and business. I was motivated and committed to being the best that I could be. For the first time, I really liked my work and it showed.
\nI put a great deal of effort into repairing my damaged marriage. I was committed to changing the behavior that had separated me from my wife. Slowly she was able to forgive me for all those years of damage I had caused and we began to grow closer. We fell back in love with each other. And she is the most important thing in my life.
\nI was finally fulfilling my potential as a human being and I had a new appreciation for life. I enjoyed my life more, I felt better about myself, and I started to become the person I was capable of being. Unfortunately, the economy and changes in my industry lead to the closing of the company I had worked for recently and I find myself at home again. But for the past couple of years I had been spending a lot of my free time devoted to educating myself in marketing.<\/p>\nMy commitment to a home based business<\/h3>\n
\nSo for months now I have been devoting myself to learning the skill sets of internet marketing. I have been blogging<\/a> consistently for a few months.
