I had a bit of an epiphany last night.<\/p>\n
I was lucky enough to spend some time with my mentor.\u00a0 (\u2026I am always amazed at how gracious he is with his time, and made yet another mental note on the importance of paying it forward\u2026)<\/p>\n
Anyway, I hung out with him for a while and got to watch how he works\u2026 his DMO or daily method of operation.<\/p>\n
I know my mentor is a highly successful professional, and has already created a number of successful online businesses,<\/strong> but I couldn\u2019t help but chuckle when I saw how easy and effortless it all was for him.<\/p>\n But the thing that struck me the most wasn\u2019t so much what he was doing, it was what he wasn\u2019t doing.\u00a0 I was in awe at how he was spending his time.<\/p>\n I had heard the message before.<\/p>\n I really thought I got it.<\/p>\n <\/a>But clearly, I needed to take this class again!<\/p>\n So what exactly was he doing? He was talking to people.<\/p>\n That\u2019s it.<\/p>\n Talking. To. People.<\/p>\n Brilliant!<\/p>\n In the short amount of time I spent with him that day, he had talked to more people than I had talked to all week.<\/p>\n Now, I know it\u2019s easy to feel like you need all kinds of \u201cstuff\u201d in order to truly create successful online businesses<\/span>.\u00a0 And you do. You need information, you need tools, you need resources, and you do need marketing skills.<\/p>\n But none of that matters if you don\u2019t talk to anybody.<\/p>\n I started to notice how his day looked in comparison to mine. He started his day by talking to people. It was his top priority.\u00a0 For me, I put everything else first in my day, and then found myself out of time to do the thing that really mattered most: talk to people.<\/p>\n Successful Online Businesses<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Another one of my mentors\u2026 (my acting mentor to be exact, it\u2019s important to have several mentors to help you along the way)\u2026calls it R.P.A., or Results Producing Actions. These are actions that you do daily that will directly lead to results i.e. sales, bookings, etc.<\/p>\n A lot of times it\u2019s easy to place a higher value of importance on the tasks we take on.\u00a0 But not everything we think is important is, and not everything we do actually leads to results. Yes, it may be important to the overall success of your business, but doing that action and that action alone may never put dollars in your pocket.<\/p>\n So the key is to really determine your results producing activities and do those FIRST!<\/p>\n Not Last.<\/p>\n First.<\/p>\n It was a huge wake up call.<\/p>\n Today, I changed my schedule. After I checked in with my accountability partner, I immediately started talking to people.<\/p>\n Guess what happened?<\/p>\n I put some dollars in my pocket! Imagine that. Funny how that works.<\/p>\n So I guess what I really learned is that creating successful online businesses<\/em> isn\u2019t really that hard IF you make it a priority to do the actions that lead to results.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Did you like this post?
